Just how old was this carrot, and how was it stored? Carrots don't usually carry the bacteria that causes food poisoning, especially if washed. And if it were decayed enough to stat building up toxins, I'm pretty sure you'd have noticed.Me yesterday: Oh look, an old carrot from my garden! Hey dad, will this be good to eat?
Dad: Wash it off, it'll probably be okay.
Me yesterday: Awesome!
7 hours of food poison induced nastyness later.
Me yesterday: Not awesome.
Chicken stew several days ago, and it was delicious.I wanna know whether he put it down on the cutting board after deboning that chicken.

I guess kinda old, it was in a planter for a month or two. It didn't look that bad when I plucked it but when I bit into it it had the most FOUL taste that triggered the nastyness.Just how old was this carrot, and how was it stored? I still think there had to be some cross contamination, or maybe you got sick from somewhere else. A rotten carrot will taste bad, but it's not going to cause your system to go on full reverse.Chicken stew several days ago, and it was delicious.

True, true. It could've also been a radish, they look really similar to the carrots we grew. Does that make more sense?I still think there had to be some cross contamination, or maybe you got sick from somewhere else. Also, next time something tastes bad, spit it out.
If you can't tell the difference between a radish and a carrot, even after you've already eaten it, you -really- shouldn't be eating it in the first place.True, true. It could've also been a radish, they look really similar to the carrots we grew. Does that make more sense?
It looks like your likely culprit could be: Pseudomonas, Erwinia, or Bacillus. My money is on Bacillus cereus. It's a well known food pathogen. It's found in the soil, and it is associated with carrots.True, true. It could've also been a radish, they look really similar to the carrots we grew. Does that make more sense?
KOTOR 1 or 2? And have you ever played it before?2 hours of waiting for KOTOR to install, right when it finishes I get a text from my girlfriend reminding me that I promised to help her with some work

If that's all it is, for a change, I'd say you've got at least a littel bit of luck. Last time my car pulled to one side, the car ended up being recycled...:/right front tire is flat.
It's the luckiest I've been with my car for a while, but the tires are bald enough that I won't be able to get this one repaired, I'll have to replace at least the front two. But that's ok, it was time to get some snow tires anyway. If that's all it is, for a change, I'd say you've got at least a littel bit of luck. To be sure, it's still only comparatively lucky. Not having car issues would most certainly be preferable. It's the luckiest I've been with my car for a while, but the tires are bald enough that I won't be able to get this one repaired, I'll have to replace at least the front two. No caffeine in my diet, but you have a good point about the liquid. I'll keep that in mind tonight, thanks.Might want to limit liquid intake a couple of hours prior to bed, too. And no caffeinated beverages 6 hours before bed, and all that.
Hope it gets better. I went through that all last year. I finally got into a routine that works for me. No caffeine after 3 pm, at least an hour of intense activity, evening shower with lavendar-scented-something, warm milk or tea, and about 15 minutes of yoga relaxation poses. If I do all this, I don't even need the sleeping pills anymore. It makes me no fun at all from Monday - Thursday, but I'm not grouchy and sick all the time either.5 hours of sleep.
5 hours of sleep.
4 hours of sleep.
I don't like this pattern of the last few nights. I can't go back to sleep either--once I'm up, I'm up. Gonna try taking some Tylenol PM tonight and hopefully get 7 hours in for tonight ... but it's gonna be a long day until then.
I have a sleep specialist I see, because my sleep problems are... ridiculous. However, this PDF on sleep hygiene is where we started, and many of the habits have helped me. I ultimately need drugs to help me sleep, but some or all of this might make your rest better:5 hours of sleep.

Ugh, I hear you. I suffered this as well for years. I hope something works out.I appreciate all the resources and advice.
My problem isn't getting to sleep--I drop like a log--but staying asleep is a challenge. I took the pills last night not to get me to sleep, but to keep me down, because even if I go to bed early, I still wake up after only a few hours. Lately if I go to bed at 11:00, I'm up at 4:00. Go to bed at 1:00, I'm up at 6:00 or 7:00.
Last night I took the pills, went to bed at 10:00-something, woke up close to 6:00. So that's decent. Hopefully I can repeat it with some of the tips in this thread. Thanks, guys.
