The Awesome Videos Thread (with Extra Sauce!)

This is Mind Blow. You should be watching all of these.

Ehhh, a couple of the items mentioned (the Triton rebreather thing and the magnetic rail car) are just student industrial design projects. The peanut allergy "cure" is pretty misleading. The memory thing is pretty cool, though.

I generally like to see what people are working on without delving too far into the nitty gritty, so for me It's pretty fascinating what people are coming up with. Even if it isn't necessarily on the market yet. If that's what you want, maybe you should be watching...

I'm just kinda annoyed that it's being paired along with actual science and portrayed as something real. Science reporting is bad enough without mixing it in with stuff that's completely made up.

How have you both failed to mention the best part of that video is the designer of the maglev car is named (undoubtedly incorrectly spelled, but in the name of hilarity) Schwang Dong?[DOUBLEPOST=1392055596,1392055564][/DOUBLEPOST]
It's sure tricky as hell even for humans to recognize individual crows.
I believe that is due to the fact that we are Racists.

I promise, I did laugh like a school child when I first saw it

I've been called to appear for jury duty many times, but never served on one. Generally it's just a day wasted sitting around downtown, for me. Maybe if I start yelling "Null! Booya!" at the beginning of proceedings, they'll dismiss me faster.

I saw that earlier today... Really cool. I've been very interested in jury selection.
I knew this existed already, but every jury I've ever tried out for has always settled before the selection process was reached. Booooring.

However, if selected, you better believe to whatever-thou-holdest-holy that I'm going to be as fair, honest, and just as possible, regardless of whether I like the subject matter.

So far, my magic phrase for getting out of jury duty has been, "Well, he got arrested, he must have done something" when they start asking me questions.

Of course, I don't believe it for a second, but it sure scares defense attorneys.

(Stereo)Typical American Mom in Thailand tries a doctor fish pedicure for the first time.

I wish these weren't illegal here. I'd like to try them. I got so much dead skin on my feet, my pumice stones demand hazard pay.

Wait, what? They're illegal in the US? Or at least in Texas? I'm actually going to do this tomorrow

They're illegal in Texas, and 13 other states.

In Texas, it's because we have a no-interpretation-zero-tolerance law on the books that says that all beauty, styling and grooming equipment must be completely sanitized/sterilized between each customer.

If you sanitize/sterilize a doctor fish, it dies rather quickly.

They used to be a thing around here, then they got shut down.

Nothing saying you can't maintain your own personal tank, though.
