I personally think that has less to do with the complexity of the material and more to do with the lecture style of non native English speakers.

I had to do an industry short course earlier this year, and I started out by saying if you leave here feeling that this material is simple, then I've done my job. I'm not here to dazzle you with equations. (The course was on signal processing, with is fairly math heavy)

We had a PhD who taught Physics in our high school. He was from China, and his first language was Mandarin. There was definitely a 'learning curve' to his accent, but it generally wasn't a problem - Physics was pronounced "Ficus" (like the plant), and there was a word that, to this day, no one knows what it was supposed to be. "Mychir" - pronounced like "my" and "ch" in chair, "ir" as "irk".

I need to buy a laser pointer.
A red one.

Kati knew cats liked laser pointers, but even she was surprised at just how eager our biggest, fattest cat was to chase after that dot.
I found her breathless with laughter and Angel breathless with effort. To this day, Angel will still recognize and go "on point" even on just the sound of the activation button on the pointer being pressed, or the batteries rattling around in the aluminum casing.

Some cats don't care. But if yours is one that does care, try not to drive him too nuts with it.

After spinning Inigo (the grey shaggy kitteh) around 3-4 times with the laser pointer, my sister says, "well, aren't you going to unwind him?"

My friend sent me this in response to my new puppy. Not sure if it was lack of sleep or Vicodin, but I thought it was way funnier than it should have been.
