Games on SALE!

It had different midi versions of the music for one, but I think Square actually fixed that in a patch because of all the console nostalgia-baby whining. The PC midis sounded superior in most cases.
I was disappointed though, back in the 90s, when the PC version's One Winged Angel was midi (no vocals).

Steam's apparently doing a there-'s-too-long-between-our-big-sales-sale, or something. Lots of games at -75%, -80%, -90%. No really big names, mostly indies or GOG-ish games, but still. Plenty of fun to be had.

The Elven Legacy series -67%. Haven't played all of them, but they're very TBSs - a variation of HOMM but different scales in use. Fun and takes a lot of time.

It's not steam doing that. Valve gave publishers the ability to put their own items on sale, that's why you keep seeing lots of sales.

Those are the weeklong deals, I think? Steam's been having them for a while now. Never really seen anything worthwhile in these sales, though.

Another Square Enix promo over at GOG.
First three Thief games, first 2 Hitman games, first two Deus Ex games, all of the legacy of Kain games, Startopia, Pandemonium 1 & 2....All (up to) 75% off. Very good games in there, if you don't already have them and like the genres.

Startopia is SO the bomb if you like Dungeon Keeper type games. It's like Dungeon Keeper in space with Douglas Adams type humor narration.

PSN's having their Golden Week sale. Playstation Plus members can get some good stuff, such as:

Tales of Symphonia Collection $10
Devil May Cry HD Collection $5
Soul Calibur V $5

Think there's some other RPGs, Metal Gear Solid HD collection.

I've found my interest in buying anything on PSN has dwindled since learning that you can't carry your online purchases over to the PS4. Which I feel is still bullshit.

My solution to that is in not bothering with a PS4 until our PS3 has entirely ceased to be useful to me. As it is, there are still plenty of games I haven't touched and games I want to replay.

Plus I have a Wii U! Think of all the use I get from it!

(In all fairness, wife and I need to get back to playing Mario 3D World.)

This is a major reason why I dislike investing in console. They are limited enough as they are but I can't bring my games to the new game systems? That sucks but... fine.

Oh the games I downloaded and work perfect fine in the new generation... but I can't carry over?

Greedy fucks.
