Funny (political, religious) pictures

CRINGE inducing video of Fox's Redeye shitting on Neil deGrasse Tyson.

It takes them seconds to get racial.

I think Redeye is supposed to be funny, but is this what passes for humour?
"Astro-physicist (yeah right)"

... Wait... is he unconvinced that Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist? Or is this one of those things of "experts in their field... pfft, what do they know?"

I did find it funny that he wanted his panel to talk about aliens, and all they could do was be racist.

It's funny but I can't help but think when people put together images like that that there is some amazing lack of awareness of history there and why a minority might feel the need to express pride in their heritage.

I'd also like to point out that many whites DO celebrate their ethnic heritage... they just do it as an Italian, Englishman, Irishman, Spaniard, or whatever. We haven't had the same unifying ordeals that have united all the various ethnic mixes of black, Asian, and what not together into a cohesive unit... and it only applies to those who were ether born here or have lived here awhile. Many immigrating Africans and Asians will still treat the others from their region like absolute shit because that's how it's done back home.

tl;dr - Ethnic Identity in America is WEIRD.

What we're trying to tell you, GB, is that you are racist
(goes to calendar covered in tick marks, puts tick on today) theeeere we go.

We can have pride in white accomplishments, we just have to break them down a little -

"I like classical music."
"I like renaissance art."
"I like stories of norse mythology"
"I like celtic dance."
"I'm really into arthurian lore."
"I want to be an astronaut"
:troll:

Technically, if you refer to people as anything other than "people," then you are race-/age-/gender-/class-/creed-/able-ist.
Well, that's not true. Calling out a particular characteristic is the same as checking the "Filter by:" box in a web form.
It's what you do once you've selected your subset that determines whether or not you're being *-ist.

And yes, technically that image is racist, since it suggests that only white people are racists.

No, seriously.

Back in October 2001 my wife and I accompanied my dad out to his new trailer in Arizona. He decided to drive so he'd have a car out there. Beginning of day three, we're up and out early in the morning, and they were re-doing the "Big I" interchange in downtown Albuquerque (I-25 and I-40 interchange). As a result, we were routed off the freeway onto city streets. We followed the detour, and my dad - not familiar with the area - saw a big portable sign saying "turn left at light" to return to I-40. So, he got in the left-hand lane, which he thought was the turning lane.

It wasn't. It was the oncoming traffic lane. And the light at the intersection was turning yellow.

He sped through the intersection and onto the appropriate street, and I'm in the front passenger's seat holding on to the armrest in panic. And that was when it hit me: we just took a wrong turn in Albuquerque.
