-Half-Life 2. 75% off, $2.49. (for all two people in the world who still don't own it)
The Orange Box and Half-Life Complete are also deeply discounted. The Orange Box is 4.99 for the next 6 hours, and complete is $10.[DOUBLEPOST=1403230514,1403230484][/DOUBLEPOST]And Valve Complete is 24.99

Imagine the utter hilarity if Valve had added another game to that bundle, without any fanfare or previous announcement. "Half-Life 3, 50% off".

That's par for the course with Steam sales. Valve games are always greatly discounted and showcased. Which is understandable, given that it's their distribution platform.

And what's Far Cry 3 like? I hear good things about it, but I've never really looked into it.
It's... ok. The premise is interesting, the progression method works well, but I rapidly got sick of the consolitis. Sad really, how far crytek has fallen from its PC roots. I never finished the game... which is telling you something, for me.

Also - Ubisoft. Which means Uplay.

Uplay is a pain in the ass. However, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is currently under $4, and while it still suffers from the consolitis of the original, it does have the benefit of being hugely over the top and a love letter to bad 80's action movies. It's also completely standalone.

I mean, if you've ever needed a reason to fight laser sharks and giant neon t-rexes...

I really liked far cry 3. The premise dj kind of interesting. You're some irritating slacker bro type who has to learn to fight or die. I found the way the world actually changes in response to your gameplay to be cool. I like how you have to adapt your gameplay and not just stick to one tactic.

I now own Euro Truck Simulator. I've always heard it was good but it just didn't flip my switch. But for $3.74? I'll give it a shot.

OCTODAD! That's what I've picked up so far.

I don't know why they call it that, he seems like a perfectly normal husband and father to me.[DOUBLEPOST=1403275345,1403275269][/DOUBLEPOST]
Strategy First is having a sale as well.

They have some okay stuff.
Oh man, Bad Rats for 49 cents? This is a great game to gift people that you no longer want as friends.

But you're still paying about a dollar too much for it.

Should I feel bad that I made my 11 year old give me his 10 bucks to help pay for Valve Complete? I only wanted Half Life 2. Maybe left 4 dead. I think I'm cool with it.

What's Anno 2070 like? Is it good? I keep seeing it on Steam, and it looks kinda interesting.
It's like Anno 1403, 1502 and 1601, but in SF instead of historical setting. A bit of a mix between RTS, city builder and economy simulator. The other games in the series are fun enough, but I skipped 2070 so far because, to the best of my knowledge, it still requires UPlay, which is a piece of sh*t. Either way, I personally prefer, say, Settlers VI or VII (which also requires UPlay, unfortunately).

No Prison Architect for me. According to Can You Run It, my notebook doesn't meet the minimum requirements. :(
What? It doesn't look all that demanding, let me check the system requiHOLY CRAP. That must be some shitty programming, there's no excuse for a 2D game needing a GeForce 8600 or higher and 4 gigs of ram. Not even MY laptop has that kinda graphical oomph, and it can play Borderlands with no problems.

Yeah, I was surprised, too. But I figured I'd check JUST IN CASE because...well, it is a notebook. It doesn't even run Rogue Legacy very smoothly.

Well, I guess I should have seen this coming eventually. Now that MS has stopped supporting XP, devs aren't building games to work with it. Just blew 30 bucks on games I can't play. Guess it's finally time to upgrade to 7.

I would say that 8 has reached a tolerable point myself. I got it before they made a ton of quality of life changes and it's much better now.
