Steam Summer Sale live now!

Speaking of RPG Maker, I found a tutorial online and loosly followed it to make an opening screen--but instead of following their mapping/monster/character suggestions, I made the opening chapter to A Touch of Magic. My wife squeed so loudly that I think I lost my left eardrum when I showed it to her.

It still boggles my mind why anybody thinks to use any sort of DRM/netAPI besides steamworks. Especially for games sold on steam already.

To be fair, in the case of Dark Souls, it wasn't so much a DRM thing as it was that there is an always online social component to the game, as I mentioned. That being said, I do generally agree that GFWL is ass.[DOUBLEPOST=1403560873,1403560729][/DOUBLEPOST]

Could you direct me to some good games that were made with RPG Maker? I have the program, but haven't really looked at what's out there for it.

I dunno yet. The only one I've played so far is To the Moon, and I'm afraid it may have set a very high bar to weigh the others against.

I noticed that Kingdoms of Amalur was on sale yesterday (and can still be gotten for $5). If you've still got some game budget left, I would really recommend it. I have it for PS3 and it's a really really fun RPG.

It's basically a single player MMO, with all the pros and cons that come with it.

I picked up Kingdoms of Amalur yesterday and the impression that I had was that it was probably awesome on a console. I'm sure I'll give it more time when I'm sick of PoE again in a while, but it was difficult to adjust to the camera angles.

I loved it, and I know Gilgamesh did as well.

I had the same thought. When I looked at his member profile, he hasn't posted since the "Funny" debacle happened. I hope he didn't up and quit over something so stupid.

What're the odds of that?

Probably more likely that he's been kidnapped to be used as negotiation leverage.
...It is my hope that I did not guess correctly, btw.

Huh, what was that? I think I missed it.
There were limits placed on how much certain people could spam the little buttons in the lower right.

And like that

he was gone.[DOUBLEPOST=1403584189,1403583742][/DOUBLEPOST]Just Cause 2 is up on community choice for 3 bucks. If you haven't gotten it, it's one of the best sandbox destruction games ever released.

I hear so much about Gone Home, reckon it's worth $3? Or maybe it's a different game called "Home" that I'm mixing up.

It was probably Gone Home you were hearing about. And it's pretty great, if short. Definitely worth $3.

In other news, current voting for next Community Choice includes a set of adventure games. This includes The Blackwell Legacy games, which I highly recommend. Especially if it wins the next vote and they're 90% off as it says.

I'd have done this sooner, but I was taking a nap. Yesterday was a LOOOOOOOONG day.

Killing Floor's 5 bucks for the next 8 hours, for anybody who's this late to that particular party train.

I have an extra 9. I need a 3, 6, 7, or 8.

Also, I'd LOVE Shadowrun Returns cards if anyone has them. I've got Payday 2 and Guns of Icarus cards to trade for them

Another day, another sale. Kerbal Space Program is good, but only 40% off and still in development. Still, if I didn't have it, I'd be tempted to break my rule for it. Bioshock Infinite for $7.50, Banner Saga half off (still just shy of the Gasbandit discount rule).[DOUBLEPOST=1403716121,1403715974][/DOUBLEPOST]
Has anyone confirmed that the version of FF7 on Steam is loaded with crappy Square DRM as the first review claims?
Everything I've read says that yes, you have to register and login with a square enix account to play. For a game with absolutely no online component, that's far beyond the pale.

The Secret World is up as a flash sale. For $15 you can get the main game, a free month of premium access, and half the extra content (Issues 5, 6, and 7). That would normally be $60, so it's a great deal for horror fans.

Arkham Origins isn't terrible. I mean, if you really, really just need more Batman to hold you over until Arkham Knight, then... actually, no, just replay Arkham City. In fact, if you haven't played Arkham City, get it for $4.99 on sale instead. Asylum is also $4.99

Did they ever get around to fixing all the bugs in Origins? I was thinking about it when it came out, but all everyone mentioned was how buggy it was, on every platform.
