Maybe they could just sell Mega Man to NintendoThis week Capcom decided not to renew their anti-takeover clause, which means now anyone can buy out Capcom if they own enough of the company shares.
I'd rather this happen than see the company die. I'm just getting into the Monster Hunter series, so I'd like to see it continue, and there's always hope that Mega Man will return if another company is calling the shots. Hell, maybe the Resident Evil series could get good again. Who knows? But at the very least, this could mean the ousting of the old guard, if another game company decides they want it.
I'd be fine with this, but it doesn't sound like they want to strip the company and sell the parts a la THQ (at least, not themselves--if another company bought them, there would be nothing to stop the new owners from doing just that). It sounds like they're just opening the door for a takeover. What happens after that will depend on who does the taking over. I doubt any franchises of value will be sold off.Maybe they could just sell Mega Man to Nintendo
But that's kind of the thing... who would want ALL of Capcom? I just mean, a takeover would equal buying the bunch, not just the top ranking franchises. If afterward they chose to sell off unwanted properties, that'd be their call. But that's kind of the thing... who would want ALL of Capcom? What franchises do you want from Capcom?
- Street Fighter
- Mega Man
- Resident Evil
- Monster Hunter
... and that's it. Sure, they have OTHER great franchises, but who's going to buy Capcom to make another Dragon's Dogma? Another Breath of Fire? Phoenix Wright? Those aren't what is going to sell the company. It's those 4... and to be Frank, I could see Sony buying the company and making it 2nd-party just to keep those games from being exclusive to Xbox One.
We'd DEFINITELY get Mega Man Legends 3 from Nintendo... but we'd probably see re-releases of Legends 1 and 2 first. Which, hey, I'd be totally fine with.If Nintendo got the rights to Mega Man, you can be damn sure they'd milk that bitch dryer than the Sahara.
Of course, it might mean we get a new Mega Man Legends, which I'd be totally down for.
I never got to play them and they're not on the PSN. Well, Legends 2 is, but it's "Disc Only", whatever the fuck that means. We'd DEFINITELY get Mega Man Legends 3 from Nintendo... but we'd probably see re-releases of Legends 1 and 2 first. Which, hey, I'd be totally fine with.
The limited amount of footage makes me wonder what they're so afraid to hide. That's what you get for limiting your games with exclusive bullshit.[DOUBLEPOST=1403626741,1403626624][/DOUBLEPOST]Divinity, a game I KS awhile back, finally releases this week. The limited amount of footage I've seen looks incredible. Hope it's awesome.
Well, their first mistake was naming it WARFACE. I mean, really? From what the rumor-mill around me has been saying, Crytek's problems have nothing to do with being on console vs PC, and much more to do with the company apparently having waaay more "admin" staff than is needed who all charge much higher salaries than any of the actual developers, poor financial planning, and the fact that they spent a ton of money on Warface with the belief they would make it back in MTX, but that didn't happen at all.
It is definitely hard for me to not think of this scene when thinking of that title.Well, their first mistake was naming it WARFACE. I mean, really?
The sequels aren't -that- bad. I rather liked 2 and 3.God of War is the Boondocks Saints of video games.
I liked them all the first time I played them, and 2 and 3 are definitely a step up. But then I played Bayonetta. When I tried going back to God of War, Kratos felt slow, his moves felt more clunky than fluid. The sequels aren't -that- bad. I rather liked 2 and 3.
Oh, definitely, Bayonetta is one of the finest action games I've ever played. Hell, I'm going to buy a Wii-U just for the sequel.I liked them all the first time I played them, and 2 and 3 are definitely a step up. But then I played Bayonetta. It was certainly one of our motivators. Put down a pre-order not long after buying the Wii U.Oh, definitely, Bayonetta is one of the finest action games I've ever played. Hell, I'm going to buy a Wii-U just for the sequel.
Hell, I have the first one for PS3 and this makes me grin.Finding out the first will come bundled with 2 made me pretty happy, as I kept putting off buying it. Now I can get both for the price of one.
Can't wait. The first of two videos showing the specimens in Killing Floor 2 -
If you dig Shadowrun Returns, you should try and track down a copy of Shadowrun on the SNES. It's basically the entire inspiration of the game (though the SNES s an action rpg) and many of the tracks (like Double Cross and Dark Alley) are revamped tunes from it. Jake Armitage is also the main character and some other characters from that game are big players in Dead Man's Switch. The projects by Inafune alone have my mouth watering. Shovel Knight has been great (though I'm sadly close to finishing it). I would snap up a Metroidvania indie game like that if it was as good as these other projects at their stuff. I haven't gotten far in Shadowrun Returns, but so far it's great.
The funny thing for me is, I didn't play the games these are from until recent. There's no nostalgia factor to work from for me--these are just good, solid games and it's unfortunate that mainstream gaming has turned in such a direction that these kinds of titles are so rare. Small wonder that I'm mainly playing either indie titles or Nintendo games.
Also pumped for it. You may get it before I do since you're a backer. I need to pay more attention to Kickstarter projects.I'm TOTALLY pumped for Mighty No. 9. It looks amazing and I'm glad I backed it.
