If you enjoy TellTale's recent releases (and you should, unless you have no soul) then you will love Wolf Among Us. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get into it after coming off of the emotional roller coaster that was The Walking Dead Season 1, and the fact that it was set in a universe I know nothing about (Fables) and more slower paced, I was skeptical. You know, I got the first episode of that for free on my iPad, and I'm avoiding starting it because I know I'm going to have to buy the rest immediately.
As much as I love Back to the Future, I have to agree. BTTF was fiercely linear and you didn't have any effect on the plot. I don't know if I'll play the Walking Dead again any time son, but at least I know that my choice matters. If it's more like Walking Dead than Back to the Future, I'll have to get it.
Same, at least for Telltale games. If it's just linear, I'd rather watch a let's play. If I have influence, I'd like to play and see how it goes.As much as I love Back to the Future, I have to agree. It's definitely more Walking Dead than BttF. TWD really is the turning point in their game design, and Wolf Among Us really showcases their new dedication to that idea. Less old school puzzle adventure and more story driven drama and branching story paths. If it's more like Walking Dead than Back to the Future, I'll have to get it.
I can't buy anything right now, but once I have some spending money (or my wife uses some of hers to get a $20 PSN card), it will be bought. It's definitely more Walking Dead than BttF. I just finished it. Shit went down. Will play again.
I think Walking Dead gives you the illusion that your choice matters. Yeah, some of the decisions might make some dialogue different, but the broad story still develops the exact same way, regardless of your choice. Not to say that those choices aren't interesting. There were several instances during my play through that I had to pause the game to give myself more time to think about the presented binary choices. Some of them were doozies. As much as I love Back to the Future, I have to agree. BTTF was fiercely linear and you didn't have any effect on the plot. Sometimes. But sometimes they can completely change the story.I think Walking Dead gives you the illusion that your choice matters. If you want to see choice illusion, play Mass Effect 3 after the first two. The Walking Dead, depending on the polarity of two playthroughs, can feel like an entirely different story is playing out despite the same major event points happening.I think Walking Dead gives you the illusion that your choice matters. That's where I'm at now. I wish I could cast Reflect on him so he couldn't use Cura on himself. I feel I would've had him last time, except he cast Charm on Ringabel, who then cast Regen on the boss. Made progress kind of difficult. Some of the Job battles are pretty brutal. Red Mage made me lose it a few times, the way he messes with his Default/Brave.
Yeah I've heard nothing but great things, if I didn't already have so many things to play right now I'd pick it up. A sale would probably force my hand, though.I've been hearing some great things about Divinity. I may have to pick it up when it goes on sale.
Evolve in October.Alas, as of now the PS4 is just cruelly taunting me. I still have no games for it. Madden 2015 comes out August 30 so I'm just biding my time until then. The new NCAA football game was supposed to come out today, but NOOOOO we cant have one this year. Stupid rights of players to not be used as free labor for a multi billion dollar industry.
