Lovin' it. I'm betting that will go along with the customization stuff for people's Nintendo IDs.
I could see that. Honestly, I'm sort of surprised it's kind of taken them until this one to really run with the idea of actual alternate looks for palette swaps. I'd be surprised if we don't see Dr. Mario turn up as an alternate costume.
It would help do away with clones for certain.
There are several games this generation where Nintendo has done something that they should've done years earlier (this goes big time for the recent Pokemon games). I'm all for them finally getting onto them, but they have been in a lurch for a while.
Actually, I'm really curious now to think of what other alternate costumes they could do.
He'll always be an Italian-American plumber from Brooklyn to me, so why not? Though I'm pretty sure the official story is still that he's just Italian.
Some ideas:
Spirit Tracks outfit for Toon Link
Mega Evolution for Charizard
Shiny color for any of the Pokemon
Mario Kart biker suit for Peach and Rosalina
Fire Emblem Awakening masked Marth
Shadow the Hedgehog for Sonic
Other Pikmin protagonists for Olimar
Charizard's Mega Evolution is rumored to be his Final Smash. It's probably going to be the Mega Charizard X version, with the black skin and blue flames.
Toon Link hasn't been confirmed as a character, but he DOES wear the Spirit Tracks conductor outfit in the Spirit Tracks level of the DS version. He's conducting the train!

He was confirmed back in September. Sakurai made a point of showing that when someone is playing as Toon Link in the Spirit Tracks level, another character conducts the train.

Nintendo has unveiled two new fighter for the next Smash Bros. game: Lucina and Robin, hailing from the Fire Emblem franchise.

Man I'm excited for some fun times, game's looking pretty good. Still no Shulk, though.

Called Lucina... did not see Robin coming though. I think that leaves one more big fighter to be announced between now and release. Knowing Nintendo, it's ether going to be a third party fighter or something completely unexpected, like a character from an upcoming game or something.
I like the touch of Robin's spellbooks having a limited number of uses like they do in FE games, and it keeps him/her from being yet another sword character, which we now have quite a few of. Hopefully Marth/Ike/Lucnia will feel different enough from each other with the push to separate characters and reduce the amount of clones from previous entries.
There is one possibility of who might be the next fighter, if you're guess of a third-party character is right.
Earlier, a picture was posted on Miiverse by the Smash Bros. team of one of the collectible trophies that will be in the game. The character the trophy is of? Rayman.

After Marth was revealed, I really didn't think we'd get Lucina, but I'm so happy we are. Robin is a great addition too. Also nice to see Captain Falcon today.The Chrom joke at the end was cute too.

During E3, Ubisoft said they didn't allow the player to be a female assassin for Assassin's Creed Unity because it would be too hard or double the work or some other nonsense. People have been pretty merciless going after them for that comment.
Ubisoft really is a terrible company; I need to stop supporting them after the shit they pulled with the creator of Assassin's Creed.

Well, depending on your actions in Fire Emblem Awakening, one may be the other's mom.
The game really doesn't go out of it's way to hide what's going on. Technically Lucina's very presence is a spoiler.
The funny thing is this makes me want to go back and finally finish Awakening.
You should; the finale is excellent.
Though I don't know if it maintains that feeling if you've taken a long break between it and the rest of the game.

I'm slowly losing ground on the mental battle against buying an oculus rift devkit 2.
