Snick = Saturday Night Nick = Leisure suit, imo.

Also, Are You Afraid of the Dark was the bomb, yo. And Roundhouse made a decent Laugh-In for teens.

I've rewatched Are You Afraid of the Dark? episodes and I don't know how that show used to scare the piss out of me while Night of the Living Dead did not.

Man, I loved Roundhouse. And sadly, none of my friends knew about it. So, for years, not only could I not remember what the show was called, but if I ever described it to anyone, they didn't have a clue what I was talking.

Whenever my life gets me so down
I know I can go down
(down down down down down down down)
To where the music and the fun never ends.
As long as the music keeps playing
You know what I'm saying
I know that I can find a friend
DOWN AT THE ROUND HOUSE
(kick, explosion noise)

Honestly, most kids probably might not find Night of the Living Dead terrifying (not saying that it's bad, just that young folk may not be as struck by it). Are You Afraid of the Dark?, however, I think had itself at just the right level with elements that it might get its way into a kid's head, even when looking back the show hasn't aged that well. At least it aged better than the Goosebumps series did.

I remember the movie for that being creepy as all hell, that demon kid was scary.

Black Jesus isn't as funny as Boondocks I'll admit, but the show is definitely showing promise and I like where the story is going.

Anyone watched Annedroids on Amazon Prime yet? It's very typical pre-teen oriented. A bit annoying at times, but at least the characters aren't all caught up in relationships and the girls aren't uselessly boy crazy. Our girl loves it so far, and cruised through all the episodes. Hopefully more come soon.

The production costs on Drunk History must be outrageous. They have period sets and costumes for every single skit.

I don't mean to keep on about Arrow but I am marathoning it.

This show does a very good job of questioning the concepts of good and evil. Better than many movies that attempt the same. The hero is questionable and the villain's motives are believable and sympathetic. That was a complete but pleasant surprise.

The actor playing Oliver is actually quite good at switching between Old Ollie and New Ollie so that they feel like legitimately different characters.

Finally the DP is excellent. I wouldn't be surprised if s/he gets scooped up by someone with deeper pockets. Excellent lighting.

After viewing a vast ammount of Star Trek the original series, Mr. Spock has become my current thought voice. Logic dictates that this is the best possible outcome.

Okay... I just got to the backdoor pilot for The Flash (my favorite comic book character). I'm absolutely sold. Brilliant. From the change in musical theme and camera work the moment Allen comes on scene you know it's something big before they even reveal who it is. Then the iconic origin scene gave me a chill right down my spine. Bravo, CW. Hope you keep it up.

Then, as a bit of icing on the cake, Ollie
puts on a real mask
and suddenly you see why he was cast. Looks just like the comic character with such a minor change.

Yahoo has commissioned 13 more episodes of Community. So, you know ... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Hopefully Dan Harmon doesn't have the characters mouth off about them in the final episode this time.

How are you liking season 2 so far fade?
Some of the mystery and thrill is gone out of the show, but it's replaced by uncertainty and improvement in Queen's character. It's really nice that they addressed the change from vigilante to hero that also happened in the comics post-Crisis. The move from vendetta to crimefighter to superheroics is interesting, too. Not a huge fan of Summer Glau outside of Firefly where her cue-card acting went well with the character, though.

SyFy's Defiance is way, way better than a show on SyFy has any right to be. They've laid enough of the groundwork to get away with some of the directions they're taking with the plot, and the acting and characters are surprisingly excellent. There was a huge bit of character development last night that immensely paid off, by both removing an annoying sideplot tumor and retroactively changing the nature of a number of interactions. At the time, you think, "Well, that character isn't reading between the lines at all, or isn't getting what the person they're talking to is actually telling them." And now, it's like, "Holy shit, yes they fucking did!"

And I love that they're letting Irisa actually be disturbed. Not "free-spirited" or "mystical" or "wild" - not even cutely bizarre like River Tam often was - but outright fucking damaged with serious issues that are leading her to do some seriously messed up things.

My entire issue with the show is that it's a SyFy show... which means it'll get 5 seasons, then cancelled when it's time to renegotiate contracts because of "budget issues". I'm just not going to get attached to it like Warehouse 13 or Eureka.

Honestly, it's way better than either. And I really liked those shows. But this is Vikings / Game of Thrones level TV.

I have yet to watch Defiance though I want to give it a shot. One thing it could have going for it in terms of longevity is it also has the MMO as brand support. I am not sure how much the two platforms help each other out with fan base but it could be a factor.

That doesn't mean SyFy won't cancel it around that mark. It's a business thing, which is why it's smart for a show on there to plan a main story arc of that length.

When I read this, I was like, "I've never heard of that show, that the hell is that?"

So, I looked it up on YouTube

Holy crap, I used to watch the hell out of this show. How did it completely fall out of my memory banks?

In other news, Ravager's costume does not translate well to real life. Though in all fairness, it looks pretty stupid in the comics, too.
