On an average weekday, the island of Manhattan has about 3.1 million people on it... or about 1% of the population of the United States. And about 1 in 38 Americans lives in New York City.

I can't wrap my head around it. This doesn't seem like it can be true.

I used to live in Manhattan.
Believe it.

Couldn't pay me enough to live there for a month, much less for life. That would absolutely drive me crazy nuts.

I live in a town that I can be into country, in any direction, starting in the city center, in less than 15 minutes. Lake in 25 minutes. Life is good here.

Speaking as someone who's lived in both Manhattan and Queens, it's fun in your 20's, but I'm happy not to have to do it anymore.

TIL of Heat Vision and Jack.

Back in 1999, Dan Harmon (creator of Community and Rick and Morty) and Rob Schrab (Creator of Scud: the Disposable Assassin) got together to write and executive produce a pilot for a new TV series, with Ben Stiller directing the pilot. The two main characters are Jack Austin (played by Jack Black), a former astronaut exposed to dangerous levels of solar radiation and thus gain super-intelligence whenever the Sun is out, and Heat Vision (played by Owen Wilson), a talking motorcycle who is the result of Jack's friend Doug being zapped by a NASA laser and merging with a motorcycle. Now, with both wanted for experimentation by government agent Ron Silver, Heat Vision and Jack travel around and end up caught in adventures and saving lives.

Fox Broadcasting passed on the pilot.

Spread it flat to partially dehydrate in a small pancake shape (think fruit leather/snacks consistency), then put it on a hamburger the same way you would a slice of cheese.

I think it might be too sweet for a burger. At least the way I like burgers.
I was kind of thinking of making a BBQ sauce with it. A little sweet, a little tangy. I'm not sure what to add to it since I usually make a tomato and vinegar-based BBQ sauce.

It's like Knight Rider for the new millennium!

Chocolate, tomatoes, and now shrimp?
If I try to boycott all of these simultaneously, what will be left???

Oh, that's right. Corn! I can have all the corn I want. We got corn chowder, corn syrup, corn chips, corn squeezin's, corn muffins, popcorn...

Well, you should also throw any diamonds in your household away, because blood diamonds.
Don't have any. :)
(This is mainly due to economic reasons rather than ethical ones. FWIW I prefer ruby/sapphire and alexandrite anyway. Mmm, alexandrite...so pretty)
