[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

So did Bliz patch in the new character skins yet? Or is that exclusively for when the xpac comes out?
Patch 6.0, which happens right before the expansion hits. They are up on the PTR right now if you want to download and try them out.

So they put up a little post about all the inventory improvements coming up, here is the jist of it for those tuning in recently.

Quest Items no longer exist. Anything that requires activating to do the quest now appears in the quest log itself.

The Toy Box is added, which basically takes all those fun little items that serve no purpose outside being goofy and puts them in a panel like the mount/pet pages. This includes a lot of older ones.

A second tab for void storage was added, doubling it's capacity.

A new "Reagent" tab was added to the bank. It only accepts reagents like ore, herbs, etc, which now stack higher, and when you open the trade window, no matter where you are, it will always be able to use reagents in the reagent tab.

Bags can also now be set to organize different things to different bags.

Overall we will see a huge boost in space, which was needed badly.

Does that include quest items that you keep? I think I have a bunch of quest items that have goofy effects that I'd still like to hang on to.

Furlbog wand nooooooo

(The ogre disguise will probably stay because it's a tailoring/lw recipe, and tannin is not marked as a quest item)

I went to see if that rod was in the toybox and it's not. Don't worry just this yet though, since they said there will be a few quests where items would still be required.

I checked out the toybox earlier and here are a few things.

It's completely account bound, so if you got the toy on one character, all of them will have it. It even gives you the opposite faction equivalent if one exists, much like mounts.

It has pretty much all archeology, world event, and pandaria toys. It also has all the various banners you can get, like the ones from the Argent Tournament, and dungeon toys, like the Orb of the Sin'dorei. It even has a few engineering items, like the X-Ray Specs and World Enlarger.

Oddly there are a few items that SHOULD be in the box, but are not. A few I noticed on my paladin are Turnip Punching Bag and Anatomical Dummy.

Okay guys I am going back into this game pretty hard this week as I want to try and get some of the mounts and pets that are vanishing. Anyone up for some challenge modes? I am on right now if you are.

I haven't preordered yet... yet. Do you get the character boost right away once you do? Assuming that boost is separate from the $60 paid boost, right?

Probably best off getting that last bit on my mage from 55 to 60 in order to max out professions as well.

You get it immediately, but you don't have to use it immediately. You get a notification on your login screen that you have a boost available, and can choose which character to use it on, or save it until later.

Interesting info I learned today. If you guys have alts, make sure to log into them NOW.

Basically, Blizzard is running out of names. Millions of people have played the game now, and even those that quit have their characters saved just in case they returned. So "QuitieMcQuit" could have left back in vanilla, but his name was always taken up on the server.

To correct this, they are opening up all names for character that don't log on at least once in the coming weeks before 6.0 drops. Anyone that logs onto the character after that will have to pick a new name if the old one is then taken.

The way it locks you in is logging onto the specific character, NOT THE ACCOUNT, so make sure to log on at least once with all your alts.

So, WoW is currently downloading an almost 14GB patch.... hmmmm.... It appears that they're already predownloading the 6.0 patch. I wonder if that means that it's coming soon(tm).

After watching some videos about the lore of Warlords of Draenor, I kind of wish I could join the Iron Horde. They sound rad.

Sometimes I think it's a bit overboard. It feels like they just dragged in all the various villains they liked from old games, and adhered them to famous orc chieftains of the past.

I am still not sure how much I feel about it, to be honest. Some of the changes in characterization bother me greatly. Blackhand went from a puppet who got his head chopped off by Orgrim, to this massive juggernaut deathwing 2.0. Kilrogg, presented as such an honorable orc that even Danath respected him when the two fought, now stabbed his own father and seems to be sacrificing people left and right (without any demon influence). Grommash becoming a cannibal. Kargath being presented as a brutish pain-obsessed gladiator when he was actually just as much a schemer as Gul'dan, and was even on the Shadow Council. Ner'zhul somehow getting out of his demonic pact that left him listless and now using void magic. It's all so weird.

In the end though, I know I just have to realize that this is a full on alternate timeline. We are not talking just a change from when the orcs decided not to drink the blood. We are talking even stuff BEFORE that event having happened different. It's been said as much in one of the recent story posts, as Garrosh finds out that in this timeline Grom's mate dies before ever giving birth to him, while in the original timeline he was born before she died, all before the blood choice even gets to the table. In this timeline, it also looks like the blood choice happens way earlier then the original timeline, as it only came to them after their skin turned green from warlock magic in the original, yet people like Drek'thar (who spent a lot of time as a warlock in the OU) seemed to have always remained a shaman.

Yeah, I'll be really impressed if they manage 11am.

Also of note, MoP has been rolled into the full game package for 20 bucks, so now that bill gets you everything up to Pandaland.

It begins. How many more?!

@BlizzardCS: [NA] #WoW maintenance is being extended until 12pm PDT, 1 hour from now. #Patch602

People who continue to be shocked and pissed about maintenance being extended are clearly playing a different game than the rest of us.

Yeah after 10 years (sweet mercy it's been a decade of this game!) I feel like everyone should expect major patch delays and server issues on xpac launches. If you don't, you're an idiot.

You'd also think blizzard would learn and push the times back to start with. No one will complain if they come up early.
