New Picture Thread

There's an annual tradition in Kentville, Nova Scotia: a Pumpkin People Parade! Dad, my two nieces, and myself went today. Hilarity ensued.

There's a lot here, so I'll put it each one behind a spoiler.

Road trip group shot!
Posing!
I...have no idea.
Land ho!
Pumpkin Pirates!
Yo ho!
My niece is now armed and dangerous.
Stormtrooper Pumpkin!
One of those...walker things? I forget their name.
The Pumpkins Strike Back!
(There was an entire field, actually, recreating the Battle of Hoth.)
Imperial Walker!
Found in the underside of the Imperial Walker. Because...pumpkins?
The Wave!
GoodPumpkins
Oh noooooes!
You dirty rats.
Sour face!
The Little Nickmaid
Star Wars characters trick-or-treating.
Great Scott!
Nick, Vic, and Amelia's Excellent Adventure! Air guitar, dudes!
It's showtime!
Some kind of alien dude, I think?
Jack Pumpkington!
The Pumpkinator!
E.T.!
Ouch?
Who ya gonna call!?
And I...had...the time of my life!

Hey Nick, from some angles, your older niece reminds me of Lea Seydoux. You may remember her as the French assassin Sabine Moreau from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Today, on (Canadian) Thanksgiving, my girlfriend and I drove to Wolfville with her son so I could show them the Pumpkin People. More hilarity ensued.

Branching out!
Deep Conversations
Hood Ornament on a Stump
(And looking way more tense and serious than I intended. YOU try doing a balancing pose on a stump without straining a little!)
Thriller...Pumpkin Style!
A row of pumpkin people!
Pumpkin Waiters!
And finally, a really great picture of me, my girlfriend, and her son. A nice lady asked if we wanted us to have our picture taken together. I think it turned out really nice.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of wandering around NYC with @Chad Sexington! It was a great time with good company, so I'll share the highlights:

That's The Plaza washed out in the background, but proof we were together in Manhattan!

It ended being a warm sunny day, despite the downpour for a good portion of the morning. One of the places we wandered through was Central Park, and the Central Park Zoo. The seals were happy to greet us (or did they think we were going to feed them?).

Here are the adorable red pandas we plotted to bring home with us. Sadly, Chad's allergies would make joint custody impossible, so we let them stay. For now.

We also went to Chinatown and I took Chad to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, which has a lot of it's own unique flavors. Of course I had to try this one!

All in all, Chad is a great wandering-buddy and conversationalist. Come back soon so we can do more stuff and pronounce* it "Cal-GARY"! ;)

EDIT: The group was called The Frantics. If they say it "Cal-GARY", it must be right!

I remember well sniggering through out a Gray Cup final from lovely Regina. I swear the color commentator said Regina every time they came back from commercial...
