The Super Dooper Canadian Thread (now with 47% more Canadian Bacon)

*Pats Nick on the back* That's okay, Nick, we love you anyway. Good try, you'll get 'em next time, slugger.

And a happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

Maybe it was an American.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the guys were/are Canadian and wanting to disrupt the caucuses. I would not be surprised if it were:
  • ISIS related. Seems to be happening a lot for some reason.
  • Right win nutjob who hated the government for something.
Most times it's not left wingers. But that's always a possibility.

I got a cryptic message from my sister telling me my brother and his fiance are alright. I had no idea what she was talking about. Glad they are safe though. have heard from both of them now.

They had us in lockdown for pretty much the entire day. I was finally able to leave my building (located nowhere near downtown, but it's still a government building) at 18:00. I had been there since 7 in the morning. I am cranky and famished. Pizza is coming, and it will be glorious. I also have the latest episode of The Flash waiting on my PVR, and its glory shall be no less.

It's been a really long damn day, but at least I'm all right (and never was in any real danger).

I'm glad all Ottawa-area Halforumites and their families are safe tonight. Watching the events on the news tonight was unnerving. I've walked all those streets and locations a bunch of times and never once felt concerned for my safety. (Well, no more than then usual "always be aware of your surroundings".) It's a shame something like this rattles that kind of peace.

A recent conversion to Islam. Go figure. What is the draw here? What makes a person look at the actions of groups like ISIS and think, "Well now! There's a jolly bit of fun!"

Canadian nerds around my age, tell me you remember this:

NOSTALGIIIAAAAAAA!
"We've got more cotton candy than even Matter-Eater Lad could handle."

Wow, these aren't made for tv nerds. These are real, organic, free range nerds.

Edit: Also, the kinect was terrible back then. too.

The show introduced me to a lot of indie comics that I would have never heard of otherwise. It was nerd legit.
