[Movies] The Upcoming Movies Trailer Thread

Regarding Chappie though, when I saw Neil Blomkamp and Hugh Jackman, I was all like, "SOLD! Shut up and take my money!"

But then I watched the trailer, and... I dunno... it doesn't feel like there's a lot of new stuff in there. A naive robot gradually learns to be human. We've seen this a million times before, haven't we?

I'm still interested, but I'm not all that hyped up now.

He certainly can be.
Yeah sorry, I don't like him all that much. He's okay, but the Academy isn't always right.
Well, maybe I just have lower standards, because there's a big difference between "some of his roles were bad" or "I'm not that fond of his work" and "horrible". No matter how much you disagree with the academy, horrible acting doesn't get nominated for an award with that much prestige. Mediocre acting does, a fair bit. Horrible acting is something else all together, though. Maybe it's because I witness some truly terrible acting in a non-professional setting, that I'm more appreciative of what's mediocre, even in Hollywood.

Dude has two things get nominated (and does not win), but gets multiple awards for his bad work from the Razzies. Now, granted, those don't hold much weight, but still. The only thing he won any substantial award for is his rap albums.

He's not as bad an actor as the other guys in that list, in my opinion, but again, in my opinion, he's not very good, either.

The Razzies are not about bad acting or bad movies. They solely exist to get publicity by shaming popular show biz people for flops.
The presence of movies like Michael Bay's Transformers movies and Twilight indicates that they're clearly not just for flops. Obviously "movies that are flops" and "movies/performances that are horrible" are two categories with significant overlap, but don't get them confused.

Looks interesting, but also kind of... hmm... paddy? Like they really padded out the last few pages of the book to try to make it a full movie. There's lots of talking about what Thorin's become, lots of establishing shots of armies looking badass, lots of new material that they made up for the movies, etc.

Still gonna see it though.

Well, who thought they'd actually just knock Bilbo out and then cut to the end of the battle?

That'd actually be hilarious. Knock Bilbo out, and then after he wakes up, he goes to talk to various people, and they describe what happened while he was unconscious. And he imagines everything that happened, in suitably over-the-top fashion.

"They came at us with trolls..."

*Bilbo imagines an army of thousands of cave trolls charging over a hill*
