I'd just like to point out that I don't dislike Charlie.The only people who have ever infuriated me are Steinman and Matthias; yet, I'm perfectly cool with both of them. Life's too short for grudges, particularly internet grudges.

Except when he judges people on their tastes in movies, like he's some kind of movie authority. Or worse, judges on movies that he hasn't even seen.
The main issue I have with Charlie is that when he actually lets the facade slip and actually has a real, honest thought or contribution to make, he suffers from "the boy who cried wolf" syndrome. Even when he's trying to be sincere, nobody will believe him, or worse, assume he's being a dick when he's actually trying to convey an honest thought.
This exactly. Any kind of good nature he puts out just sounds farcical. Like his apology to me when he returned after the Last Vegas debacle. I didn't - and still don't - accept the apology because nothing about him comes across as genuine. If anything he said was supposed to be genuine, it doesn't matter because of anything he's said and done before. His reputation precedes him now to the point that I just assume he's being disingenuous. He can't go around acting like a total dick 95% of the time and then expect anyone to take him seriously the other 5% of the time.
