Funny Pictures Thread. It begins again

I've got the theatrical release on DVD, as a bonus feature to the damned re-release. It's good watching Harrison Shoot first. And i think that Greedo never does, but I can't remember

Indeed, originally Greedo never got the chance. Han shot him under the table, killing him instantly.
In Star Whores, something else happens under the table.

...that is pribably a real porn and now I need to watch it and see if anything actually happens under the table.

Which honestly bugs me why Lucas feels the need to change it at all. In the beginning, Han is SUPPOSED to be completely underhanded and reprehensible. He does whatever it takes to save his own skin, including shooting a bounty hunter unfairly. It's not until spending time with that lightsabre kid and her royal pain that he has any kind of change of heart. He planned on just up and leaving them, which is why his sudden return to save Luke's ass makes it all the more joyous.

WAY DOWN UPON THE SWANEE RIBBER!!!!

Blackface is never appropriate.
Except in historical settings where such things actually happened. I really don't see how you could successfully portray vaudeville without at least acknowledging that black face was happening all the time. Or talk about Gershwin without pointing out he wrote an awful lot of material for black face actors to sing.

Lots of things that are hundreds of years old are racist.

Also, wrong thread?
Nah, the last picture brought up a blackface discussion.

Also, SATW has tackled "Black Pete" previously...

"In the Netherlands Saint Nicholas is a separate person from Santa, and like Santa has his elves, Saint Nicholas has his Zwarte Piet (Black Pete).

Dutch people will usually claim he is just covered in sod from the chimneys, but his clean clothes makes it pretty obvious Black Pete is inspired by a caricature of black people, but it should be noted that Black Pete is not supposed to be an African. It's more like a sort of magical being that has it's looks inspired by the caricature."
