[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

Yeah, I'm going to have to log off soon to do life stuff and I know I won't be able to get back in. Got a ton done today though in game.

This xpac has me wishing I'd left someone on Steamwheedle pretty bad right about now.

Work at 5PST, jumped in line at about 11amPST. I'm currently 1380 in the queue at 1:30PST. Finding it hard to believe they raised server caps at all, WRA is a big server but I can't imagine it's this big, even with returning players.

Okay I don't know exactly when it happened but I just went from like 1200 to 220 in the queue. Maybe they're still tinkering with server caps or something.

Well, performance of the server today has been great. Just hit 97 and I'm still not through Terrokar...or Terrowhatever it's called. Talrand. There we go.

The population of the server hovers around 150k

My DK is 100, did the silver training grounds for tank and DPS, now she just needs the ilvl for heroics. Even normals at 100 are kind of brutal, but it could have been the group.

Well, I finally got on. And boy did I ever. In two days my main Hunter is at 99 and 1/2 to 100. I'll get there tonight, probably. And man do I love Nagrand!

Things I'm loving (so far):
  • The new quests where I feel like I'm actually at the center of what's happening on Draenor.
  • The new Draenor perks that give me different new abilities depending on what zone I'm in, as well as the new class perks you get for completing certain quests.
  • Garrison is really getting a lot of my attention (and consequently, I'm only level 95 as a result)
  • Event-driven quests with stages at key points (garrison invasions, etc)
  • The fact that when I run into alliance characters, they aren't out to try to insta-gank me. Even though they're just out there leveling/questing too, it makes the storyline alliance/horde cooperation feel 'real'.
  • Lots of nice exploration perks--finding an epic weapon just lying on the ground off the beaten path, for instance.
  • Character models and zone graphics are pretty awesome. Even the trees on Draenor are rendered dramatically better than some of the WoW zones that still exist.
  • Increased stack size in bags, and crafting from the bank.

Things that bug me:
  • Names on Draenor that are the same as Outlands. I get why, but the first daily quest that sent me to Auchindoun threw me on a wild goose chase for more than a brief moment because I immediately thought of the Auchindoun I already knew.
  • "Mazing" zone architecture. We can't fly, and I often find myself having to backtrack and take another route because some wall of vines or some other feature forces me to traverse a zone on a path that the developers mandated.

I have died a lot from getting impatient trying to find a safe route down. Then I made myself goblin gliders since they are one use tradeable now and everything is better. :p

This expansion has made me appreciate Glyph of the Falling Avenger so much. I will be up on a cliff overlooking a rare, pop my wings, and go in for some death from above.

P.S. For those that are enjoying leveling followers in the Garrison, don't ever send a follower if he is RED for the mission (over 3 levels lower then the mission level), I found out they get ZERO experience for the mission even if they succeed. Have to just wait for some lower level missions to appear to level them.

Kinda mad that Fiona is Alliance only for Garrisons. Eastern Plaguelands is probably my favorite zone in Cataclysm and it's entirely to due to the caravan story, but you can do it no matter which side you are on.

I was more excited than I should have been to get Fiona as a follower.

It makes sense that she's alliance, logistically, some of the buffs that followers have are based on the race of other members of their party. Basically, she's alliance purely because she's a worgen.

It's kind of sad, most of my followers are higher level then me. I have three draenei ladies, two rangari and one paladin, that are level 97, and I am just 95. Most of the rest are in the 96 range. Right now lowest level I have is lvl 90 Dagg, the hilarious ogre rogue I found out about in Frostfire Ridge. He is master of dis guys!

Also, Blizzard, please replace the existing mount models for basic flying mounts to the new models from Draenor.
If you are talking about the new Gryphons and Wyverns, those were rewards for reaching exalted with MoP 5.1 factions. They won't be updating the old mounts since it's easier for them to add them as new mounts rather then replace old mounts. Same reason we are getting new variations of Elekk, Talbuks, etc... but still will have the old ones too.

Maybe, but it sort of feels like my time in the Eastern Plaguelands meant nothing now because apparently the devs thought so. We could have at least gotten the Earthen Circle guy, the ghost of the troll, or the goblin driver, but they aren't options ether.

I must say I fucking LOVE mounted combat!!
Yeah, all other zones suck so bad compared to Nagrand on a tiny wolf.

Also, I hate the train instance. Cramped compartments with the camera zoomed up my own ass while 10000 spell effects explode in a cacaphony of nonsense.

Hate it.

Yeah, but the old mounts look terrible. I'd be all for a complete redesign of old school mounts.

What other new models would you be willing to give up though? As a collector at heart, I would rather they just add better looking new mounts for my to find then put a lot of effort updating all the old ones. I am fine riding my rather old school wolf till I get one of the new ones. Gives me something to strife for.

I'd at least like updates for the warlock and paladin mounts.
Death Knight too.

Also, the Death Knight flying mount is the worst looking thing in the game, but that's always been the case.[DOUBLEPOST=1416248880,1416248590][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, I'm near certain that's Frank Welker as the Arrakoa you boot around with in Arak. And that's awesome.
