[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

If anyone needs a tank for heroics alliance side when you get there btw, hit me up.[DOUBLEPOST=1416249805,1416249763][/DOUBLEPOST]Also I love the idea of the train instance. I hate the boss with the adds and the cannons because it's a giant pain in the ass.

The train instance should be rad, I just hate the camera being so zoomed in all the time with how chaotic all the spell effects are.

I have my spell effects lowered for dungeons/raids, especially with how small most dungeon halls/platforms seem to be this xpac. Just too much I need to see to have all that sparkly shit in my face.

I'm not too concerned about models for old mounts being updated, but what I would like to see is female models for things like warlock metamorphosis, druid animals (they could just remove the mane from the cat and call it a day) and the new druid animal hybrid models, which are all strictly male.

And I don't even have any female toons of those classes, I just think it's dumb they don't have them.

Death Knight too.

Also, the Death Knight flying mount is the worst looking thing in the game, but that's always been the case.[DOUBLEPOST=1416248880,1416248590][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, I'm near certain that's Frank Welker as the Arrakoa you boot around with in Arak. And that's awesome.
I like the DK flying mount...

You know as I visit my Garrison throughout the day to start missions, I started to think about how fucking weird they are handling this time altering business. Even more so then it already is.

Now the way Blizzard explained it, and this made sense, was that everything that happened since Garrosh appeared in the past has been altered, creating the new alternate timeline. However, this does not explain how things have changed before he appeared, things that are rather important. For instance, in the new timeline, Grom's mate dies before ever giving birth to Garrosh. As far as this timeline was concerned, Garrosh never existed. That is already a bit of a tough one but not the most blatant issue to me.

That goes to one of my followers, Rulkan. For those that don't read up on the lore, Rulkan is Ner'zhul's wife. In WoD, Grom gives Ner'zhul an ultimatum to join the Iron Horde and bring some worth, or die under it's onslaught. To save his clan, he turned to a forbidden void magic that his ancestors discovered long ago. In disgust, Rulkan took the honorable part of the clan and left, separating from her husband. She helps you by giving you the key that allows you to enter the Shadowmoon fortress.

So why is this weird? Rulkan was the reason Ner'zhul turned to the demons in the first place. Having been dead in the original timeline, Kil'jaeden exploited Ner'zhul's love of Rulkan by disguising himself as her spirit, coming to him in his dreams and leading him down the path that would form the Horde. Later on, when Ner'zhul learned the truth of Rulkan, Kil'jaeden turned instead to Gul'dan, teaching him the skills of a warlock, and sending him down the path to have the orcs ultimately drink the blood of Mannoroth.

With Rulkan being alive in WoD, that means the events that made Ner'zhul form his pact with Kil'jaeden never came to pass, all of which was supposed to happen before Garrosh became part of the picture. So how did Gul'dan get his power? How did Kil'jaeden get his opening to lead to the blood drinking? Damn it, Blizzard, at least be consistent with your crazy explanations!

I really need to pick up War Crimes to get the story on how Garrosh went back in time in the first place.[DOUBLEPOST=1416261103,1416261049][/DOUBLEPOST]As far as Garrosh existing, I'd think that would be fairly obvious. He is from an alternate timeline, just like everyone on this side of the dark portal.

RE: War Crimes. It's not that hard to figure out. Which plot group in the game has this thing with dicking around in time under the auspices of making things better?

Maybe it's supposed to be an alternate universe where everything is slightly different that Garrosh transported to
That is not what Blizzard has said though. Most times they are asked on it, they say this is an alternate timeline created by Garrosh's intervention, not one that was already alternate before he even crossed over. Yet they keep throwing in these little things that don't fit in that explanation.

The Claws of Shirvallah model is pretty lazy, truth be told, I picked it up and it's just a cat-skinned Worgen with a poorly-animated tail. Also it's a dude, and my Troll is not.

I have been playing my troll Druid a little, and I hate the Horde Garrison look. However, watching Thrall googoo eye over his alternadad is fun.

I love it, personally, but I'm still farming resources to move it up to level 3. 2k is a lot when you've spent most on stupid follower missions. :/

I love the look of the Horde garrison, but then again, you have to kind of love the Orc aesthetic.
It's wild and untamed, instead of the boring little hamlet created on the alliance side.

Speaking of lazy models, the shield I currently have is a great stat shield that dropped off a silver mob, but its model is just that crappy looking old spiked turtle shell one you've seen a billion times and the texture sure is showing its age.[DOUBLEPOST=1416267921,1416267886][/DOUBLEPOST]

Do you have a lumber mill going? That has made me resource rich.

I wish they had tailored the Garrison visuals by race, but oh well. That's a lot more work.

But a gnome garrison would have been GLORIOUS.

Garrisons went pfft on Dark Iron while I was trying to hearth back from Warspear. Now I'm getting the character not found error. Tried to switch to my DK, who was in his garrison. DC'd while trying to log in. Then I gave up because it was time for work. So it goes.

Wanting to establish a horde main (when I didn't have one on the server I wanted to play on) I decided to roll up an orc death knight today.

It's now level 70.

I feel a little sick... where did the day go?

Day? You were gone for weeks. We were getting worried.

This expansion has made me appreciate Glyph of the Falling Avenger so much. I will be up on a cliff overlooking a rare, pop my wings, and go in for some death from above.

P.S. For those that are enjoying leveling followers in the Garrison, don't ever send a follower if he is RED for the mission (over 3 levels lower then the mission level), I found out they get ZERO experience for the mission even if they succeed. Have to just wait for some lower level missions to appear to level them.
Ah falling...

Non-mage problems...

At least they were nice enough to let us have racial guards and banners once we got a level 3 barracks and are exalted with that race. I plan to throw up my Draenei banners and vindicators once I hit level 3.

Oh we do? Time to Garrosh up my orc's stronghold.

I'm at like 1700 resources. I've all but exhausted rarespawns and found packages. I wish I'd built a lumbermill, but putting one up now and upgrading it would take longer than just getting to 2000 without it.

Yup. Right now it's any of the races in your faction (including both Pandaren disciplines), plus an option for the Knights of the Ebon Blade if you really want to have that DK feel. I am rather sad they don't have an Argent Crusade option though. That would have been more perfect for me.

Whoa, Knights of the Ebon Blade? My orc DK just came.

Also, I just installed Handynotes with the Draenor addon aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand WOW, there's a lot of shit everywhere. It feels like cheating, but I want them resources.

I installed that last night.

It *feels* like cheating, but you can also buy treasure maps in game that shows basically the same thing, so I didn't sweat over it too much.

Ok, I didn't like Pandaria. I didn't really enjoy my time there. The daily grind was fucking insane.

I'm in love with Warlords of Draenor.

Oddly enough, some of my favorite stuff has been the Arrakoa lore quests, learning about the divide between the highborn and the Arrakoa we all know and love. It doesn't hurt that Megatron is the one doing all the talking.

The assault on skettis, though, is painful until you figure out how to do it.

  • Fight monsters until you get a key.
  • Release the prisoners and fight monsters with their help.
  • IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE MONSTERS YOU FIGHT ARE RED OR GREY! You get credit for them anyway.
  • WATCH YOUR TIMERS! If one of the prisoners you set free leaves, you lose their points. You need to turn them in before that 5 minutes is up.
  • Rinse, repeat.
Basically, you free these guys and go on killing sprees. You can see the percentage going up, but if they leave on their own you lose that. I played it for HOURS last night before I found out you had to turn them in! I would get it as high as 30% and then hit the 5 minute mark and the percentage would just plummet. I wasn't fighting things that were grey, I wan't turning anything in. It was just frustrating.

But other than that, I think this is the best x-pac they've put out. Ever.

Turning them in is really all you have to do, don't worry about killing things with them beyond getting keys. The bar progress is pretty insignificant.

My biggest in game dilemna right now is trying to decide if I should use an ilvl 630 cloak or keep my legendary for the proc. -_- (For tanking, because I like get out of death free procs :p)
