That first scene at the store where Kenny was playing leads me to believe someone who works on South Park plays Magic because that is spot the fuck on how too many people play.

These guys usually do their homework on their subject matter, so as to present it in a consistent manner. I wouldn't have a hard time believing that they just hollered across the studio "DOES ANYBODY HERE PLAY MAGIC THE GATHERING. I MEAN, LIKE, REALLY SERIOUSLY PLAYS IT, LOVES IT, LIVES IT?" and then made them primary consultant on the MTG sequences.

Almost done rewatching season 1 of Breaking Bad. It is so weird to watch Walt in season 1 knowing what's to come. He's like a different person, but at the same time, now there are all these glaring hints and subtleties that exemplify how he becomes. It's still the same person later, and that's kind of scary.

The latest episode of Adventure Time "Everything's Jake". So many Futurama voices. In fact, the story seemed to have a bit of a Futurama feel to it, could almost have been a Planet Express delivery.

Damn straight, really glad they got Billy West and (I think) Tress Macneille for this episode. I would complain about not getting more Futurama series alumn, buuuuuuuuut it was just eleven minutes so its all good.

My favorite part had to be when Farnsworth Jake looked at Finn and just MELTED like he saw the arc of the covenant or something.

Woah. In The Flash, anyone else notice the guy who...

played Tick Tock modeled his speech after Dr. Schreiber from Dark City?

Grimm - and here I was worried they'd draw out Nick's re-grimm-ification thru the season finale. Good episode, nice reference on the Wesen-of-the-week, particularly with Erick Avari guest starring as the Phansagar cultist leader. KALI-MAAAA.. KALI-MAAAAA. I think the writers might be mixing up Grimm's fairy tales with Lucas', at this point.

Steven Universe

Oh god... the feels. This almost feels like a callback to the episode of Cowboy BeBop with the Betamax.

I always suspected that Lion was something Rose made, but it seems like he's the guardian of her most precious treasures... including a rose quartz gem bubble. What exactly did Rose DO?

EDIT: Also, why do the Gems watch him while he sleeps? Are they afraid something is going to happen?

I. Freaking. KNOOOOOOOOOW! And that end line by Sadie -GRAH, so sweet.

I love how Lion is a freaking living tesseract ! I also think the reason Steven can't breathe there, is because the oxygen might've caused the video tape, sword, and t-shirt to age and that's pretty cool.

I believe I say on behalf of every Adventure Time fan to Flame Princess
Phoebe- THANK YOU! SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT! Not that I completely think that exactly, but someone needed to call PB out to her face. Especially this time, I get she did it out of protection to her peeps but she was straight up villainous this ep. And I thought PB's popularity couldn't sink any lower.
Also was that Masaaki episode canon now?

If there is a reboot, I hope it doesn't feel as out of place as that Beavis and Butthead revival. You forgot that existed didn't you?

If I had a dollar for every time there was an announcement about Reboot coming back, I'd have at least twenty bucks.

They were also apparently planning a trilogy of movies a few years back, but that fell through.

So I'll believe any kind of hype or news about Reboot when I see an actual first episode.
They apparently still have plans to do at least one movie.

Peter Pan Live

Honestly, this was pretty good. The sets, camera work, and choreography were all good. Allison Williams was wonderful as Peter Pan, bringing a good infectious spirit to the part. Honestly, the main weakness in my opinion was Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. Though he had some good moments, he himself felt a bit flat and could have brought more life to such a good role. Unfortunately, he did not.

Overall, I enjoyed it and I think NBC has found themselves a new tradition for the holiday season. I'll be interested to see how next year turns out, considering I read somewhere that their next live musical will be The Music Man.

This week's south park.

I think I laughed maybe once. But it wasn't that kind of episode. Was pretty good. Looks like it might be a two-parter. Starting to wear the callbacks-to-previous-plot-points-of-this-season rug a little threadbare though.

I think the hard continuity of previous episodes thing is just going to be this season, because clearly they wanted to put out something big.

Sorry if I am a bit late on the Regular Show train, but I saw their holiday special this year.

"White Elephant Gift Exchange" offered up one of this show's biggest laughs when revenge is dealt to Muscle Man via the bad gift. I was laughing as "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" played over him getting nailed with a pitching machine, but the elf delivering the People's Elbow sealed the deal.

As for "Merry Christmas, Mordecai"...what the fuck, Mordecai?! You and CJ had a good thing going! Why'd you go and destroy it?!

At least things are going better for Rigby and Eileen.

Gotham

So I gave this show a second chance and to be honest, I'm kinda digging it. The wink-wink, nudge nudge references are almost nowhere to be seen after that pilot episode. And to be honest, if you're going to watch this show for any reason at all, it's to see Robin Lord Taylor's role as Oswald Cobblepot. His performance alone is worth the price of admission. And to be honest, I like most of the cast. The actors for Gordon and Bullock have a good chemistry between each other. And I don't think Jada Pinkett Smith's Fish Mooney is as bad as others say.

A friend of mine actually described the show rather well: it's kind of a hammy pulp detective fiction. When I returned to it thinking that, I enjoyed it a lot more. I won't say it's by any means an excellent show, but I'm enjoying it.

The first part was one of the most satisfying showings of comeuppance I've ever seen.

And your reaction is not unlike mine...or a majority of other message boards about the special. There's pulling a Mordecai, and then there's just absolute dumb ass faux pas! I would honestly be surprised if CJ took him back after this, if it goes for a "Sometimes you have to deal with your mistakes" deal than I would not be. It reminds of Daria when Tom kissed Daria behind Jane's back, only in this it had more of an impact considering you didn't see it coming unlike Jane and Tom who were clearly destined to fail.

And what's even MORE crazy is that its gonna be a month until a new episode probably, and since there's 30 more eps this season so it could take that long to resolve this story arc.

The ending to White Elephant Gift Exchange is probably the meanest, funniest thing the show has ever done and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

We're all on the same page about Mordecai though.
