I learned what happens when you pump more than 1 watt through a 1/4 watt resistor. Kind of pretty.

Superman/Batman by Jeph Loeb volume 1 It was.....good? I loved the back and forth between Superman and Batman, as well as reading there monologues back to back MADE this book but every other DC super hero....yeah.

For one the whole business with the superheroes who actually believed Lex Luthor's spiel about Superman wanting to destroy the Earth. I get it, he's the president, but to see Star Fire out right accuse Superman did not sit right with me. Captain Atom sacrificing himself, and that battle with Lex and Superman kinda made up for it but it was all kinda silly. The Lex as president thing was also a really obvious George Bush metaphor, BUT makes more sense with Lex than Tony Stark.

And then there was the Super Girl story, also good and bad. Good because it was nice seeing Clark knowing he wasn't alone in the world, bad because Wonder Woman and Batman belittled his judgment to know end.

Wonder Woman: Here's an idea! I'll ambush Clark's cousin with Bruce's help, than afterwards basically FORCE Superman to make her stay on Themyscera! That's something a superheroine friend would do right?

I get they wanted it to be a black and white issue, but their plan just read as psychotic! Couldn't they have at least, called Supes, acted like they cared about his opinion as a person before this crazy plan?

But hey, we got an awesome Apokalips adventure out of it so it wasn't all bad.

Its a very very VERY hit and miss series, something I'd read, but probably not something I'd buy. Thank you library.

Yeah, if you're going to read stuff by Jeph Loeb, I recommend just sticking to his stuff with Tim Sale. Togetehr, the two make great standalone series. Apart, their work becomes crap.

Agreed, loved Long Halloween. And in terms of art I preferred that, especially how Superman/Batman had all the POINTLESS ass shots of female characters here and there. Also, Super Girl being half-naked almost ruined the reunion scene, the movie really did it better.

Also as it should be obvious by now, I meant to post this in the "What Comics are you reading" thread, and now I feel the fool.

I got married and no longer need to take the High Speed Rail to visit my girlfriend. I've never been on one of these things. :p

We need 10 chickens, and enough customers to buy 9 dozen eggs a month at $2 per dozen to make the chickens pay for their own feed, assuming the worst case (poor laying chickens, winter when they don't forage and thus eat more feed, expensive feed, etc). This will give us 4 dozen eggs a month for the labor of dealing with chickens and selling their eggs.

Given that we can market the eggs as free range and organic, and the worst case is unlikely, we could actually produce a small amount of money with just 10 chickens.

Once a Vegan learned that lesson, and tried to sue a restaurant because they did not tell him it was not vegan. The restaurant just said Marinara means sailor's sauce. So of course there is fish in it.
I'm never going anywhere and asking for "sailor's sauce" to be put on my food.

I flipped a coin on whether to rate this post funny or informative, good little anecdote.

My kids have taught me all kinds of weird pronunciations. We use some of them on purpose now. Currently, I'm browsing this site on "chu-rome" for example.

When I was in 8th grade one of my vocabulary words was "subpoena". I had never seen it before and the teacher did not review pronunciation with us, so I said it phonetically: sub-po-ena. To this day it's an in-family joke.

I was playing Trivial Pursuit with my family when the original game came out. I read the question, What song did Doris Day sing in The Man Who Knew Too Much?

The player could not come up with the answer, so I read the answer. Que Sera Sera. But I read it as "K Sara Sara"

My parents just about fell out of their chairs.

I learned that word when I was 8, because my mother was served a subpoena for me after I had crashed a car through an old lady's front porch.

I can look back at that time now and laugh...

My mother will tell anyone who asks about how I said the other kids at school were being mean to me because they were "JEE-lee-us."
