Movie News & Miscellany

NK is probably throwing huge parades right now, with shredded American flag confetti and military officers reciting how the New Glorious Leader is destroying the disgusting American pigs with his laser-hacker-vision.

So, you know, and normal weekday for them.
I don't think the average NK citizen knows that the internet even exists.

Korea doesn't have proper internet access outside of the palace and a few intelligence gathering locations. The highest level most citizens can get to is the intranet, which is only accessible by university students and the content available is tightly controlled.

the adult in me wants to like his message. The kid in me wants to roll my eyes incessantly at the use of "smallclothes". Way to purple up even your real life language.

There is a theory going around that studio executives took a second look at the Interview, and realized it was utter crap. They saw the hack as a way to save face and use the Streisand Effect to boost profits when the movie finally is released.

There's going to be a press conference today. Word is the FBI is going to point the finger at NK and that there is a "Chinese link."

I wouldn't be surprised if China supplied the hackers, except for the fact that I question if they have anything to gain. I mean... why help? NK is at their complete mercy.[DOUBLEPOST=1419005061,1419004951][/DOUBLEPOST]

I suppose they could be taking advantage of a bad situation (no way they released their own films early), but this still sounds pretty stupid. Heads are rolling over this already.

That theory could be possible on a conspiracy theorist level -if- they hadn't canceled its release. It doesn't matter if The Interview was complete shit, it still would have made money, and canceling its release only hurts its profits, even if it does drive people to buy it on dvd or whatever they end up doing with it.

The theory worked on the assumption that the movie was going to bomb at the box office anyway, especially with the final Hobbit movie as competition. By delaying the release, and using the hack an excuse, extra buzz would be generated by people going to see the film just to see what all the fuss was about.

Otherwise, it was just another shitty Seth Rogen movie.

I'm guessing that entire "It's a shitty movie, save face" theory about the movie is coming from people who don't like Seth Rogen movies. It's almost as unbelievable as the false flag claims. As if a company would air ALL it's dirty laundry to eek a couple of extra million dollars out of a later winter release.

I like him and Franco together. Actually, I like most Seth Rogen movies in general.

I didn't even hate Green Hornet...

I think it's probably more of a case of, "If you release this movie we'll release more stuff about your company." rather than the threat of violence.

I would be SO down for that, but like Doctor Who, I could see a LOT of fans angry about this choice for stupid racial reasons.
It's already started, with them saying it's wrong because Bond has always been a British role.

... except when it hasn't.

And even if it was, Elba is British. -_-
