Your ACTUAL New Years Resolutions

1. Finish this damn schooling on time.
2. Use it to get a damn job.
3. Get out of this damn house and into my own damn place.
4. Started paying off my damn debt.
5. . . . damn . . .

Being more honest with myself.

I hate faceBook! Why can't my mom play games that DON'T involve me wasting seconds of my life unlocking her.

I decided this before the new year but... even if I can't find a new job, I will work on being kinder to myself. I will make better decisions about what problems are actually my problems and what I have to let go of. I learned exactly how bad I am at taking care of myself. I ignore pain until I break down, feel hopeless, and shut out everything and everyone that makes me happy.

I'll also submit the short stories I've finished.

Step 1: acquire bass
Step 2: learn to play
Step 3: be better at it than Scott Pilgrim by year's end
Step 4: ???
Step 5: PROFIT!!

Keep punching up. 2014 started very poorly and ended awesome (well, for me it did).

Keep punching up.

In 2015, I would like to:

Get more active

Learn more about astronomy to improve my night pictures

Get at least one of the exams done for my next professional certification

Not injure myself in stupid ways because that really needs to stop

Cook more, eat out less.
Brew my own beer, of some sort.
Work on making tasty, reproducible meads.
Pay down the credit cards and the car loan.
Save money, start a retirement account.
Go through all of the boxes that we haven't unpacked in the past year, throw away the crap, repack the stuff.
Finish buying the furniture we picked out last March.
Build a curing chamber for sausages, and one for aging cheeses.

Can't help with most of those, but if you want some help/questions in regards to brewing beer let me know.

As for mine:

Get back to benching 200 lbs.

Finish my PhD.

I got some others now that I think of it.

Stop breaking jars by accident. One of them had measurements on it too, what a waste.
Draw more, I need to get back in the groove.
Finish my damn story, it's like 6/7ths done but damn does that ending plague me.

2014 was a really rough year for me.
Looking back on it, there was a lot of hardships, but out of that grows a lot of of adventures and a lot of lessons learned. Many memories and lots of silver linings to look upon.

My resolution for 2015 is to not let the hardships I've survived go to waste, not forget the lessons and things I have learned, and to make sure one year from now I can look back and say "It was better than 2014."

-> Start posting here again, on occasion.
-> Keep up having quit smoking weed. Quit the 20th of December, doing OK so far.
-> Go back to physical therapy for my back. I stopped in October and seriously need it.
-> Finally get myself to therapy.
-> Change SOMETHING about my job. I don't care anymore if I find something new, just get different hours, or what, but....Yeagh. Quite literally any change will be positive.
-> Do someting about my self-destructive behaviour. This one's going to take more than one year to work out, but still.
-> Be kinder to my girlfriend. I know she means well, even if she drives me up the wall occasionally.

On that last point, if you ever need someone to bounce ideas back and forth with, lemme know. :)

However, be aware that, while it may sound like a great idea, bad armadillo puns don't fit in every type of story.

Who am I kidding, yes they do.

(Also, when's the Dame's a Tad Polish coming out? Huh? Huh? :p)

Hopefully (*knocks on wood*), by the beginning of the summer. But I haven't heard anything yet from the publisher.

Improve work performance. 2014 showed a BIG slump in both motivation and general performance. I WILL do better this year, and keep doing better. This will be the year I make detective.

I also vow to do better at showing my wife how much I love and appreciate her... while I know that she doesn't doubt it, I still want to do better. Gotten sort of... comfortable with her. Which, if movies and TV tells me anything, leads to bad ju-ju.

1. Be more socially outgoing, stop lurking everywhere and just be involved.
2. Stop being ashamed of how I look as a person.
3. Start getting regular exercise and eating healthier.
4. Repair the major home issues and get the house ready to sell some time this year.
5. Try again to have a second child.
6. Focus on what's important, stop getting distracted by meaningless banter that I can't control. Especially online.
