Random Video Game Crap

The Nanako and Marie DLCs just have them replace Fuuka and Rise as your monitor, I think. It's cute.
The function's the same as the Elizabeth, Theo, and Margaret ones; I just wasn't sure if they were any good.

I bought the Nanako. To be honest, she's not quite as endearing here as on the show. Maybe because she's talking constantly. Her character isn't quite the same for that matter; while she's still innocent, there are times where they aim for innocent and end up making her sound stupid. I've set her to Labyrinth voice so she'll speak about stuff on the map. For the battles, I bought Elizabeth.

Ne Amiibo news: It appears Little Mac has joined the ranks of the discontinued.

Now I feel very lucky I was able to grab one when it momentarily became available on Amazon. I also just overpaid (not too badly) for a Captain Falcon. I have a feeling he will be scarce, too.

Also, guess what company is sending out order cancellations again? If you said Toys R' Us, you'd be right. Haven't received one myself, and hoping I don't. I don't really care about the Lucario I ordered. I just want that Ike.

Someone at my job snapped up 4 of them while he was out shopping, has been selling them for > double the price.

I blame nintendo. Why the artificial shortage? That's generally more Sony's bag.
My guess is that a lot of the amiibos will have not a lot of games they're useful for beyond Smash Bros, so Nintendo doesn't want to be stuck with an overstock. They don't realize people not only want these for function, but to have a little mini of a favorite character.

This is why I pre-ordered Mega Man. Bowser will get a re-pro because he's a major character but Mega Man will be GONE in a month because Capcom isn't going to let them make more.

Same. Pre-ordered Sonic as well just in case. I got Toon Link too, but I expect Nintendo will make more of him if they ever decide to do another Zelda game in that style (which they should).

The ones that you REALLY need to worry about are the upcoming exclusives. Shulk, Metaknight, Lucario, and Rosalina are all sold at only specific retailers, so they might be hard to find in your area.

Man, I remember getting into arguments with Gilgamesh about Kingdom Hearts and how they contain some of the poorest, most overly convoluted nonsense story telling of any video game series.

Yeah, they spiraled into batshit nonsense fast in that franchise. Shame, really, because the idea of a big RPG featuring Disney characters sounds awesome.

Never has the runaway snowballing bullshit of Kingdom Hearts been so succinctly roasted.

I nearly spat out what I was drinking at "more padding than Kairi's training bra."
I'm amazed they went through the convoluted stupid backstory of the side-games.[DOUBLEPOST=1420679582,1420679461][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you only play the first game, ignoring all the others ... it's still a bunch of stupid bullshit once you get to the finale and the game breaks its own rules to setup a cliffhanger ending. Then spend several more games seeing how other rules mean they planned it out all along (bullshit).

I'm gonna play Kingdom Hearts 3, but anyone who skipped the side games will be confused as hell ... more.

Probably why they re-released the first two that included all the story bits from the other games. Which I'm honestly interested in playing at some point.

I enjoy the first, haven't played the others, for what it brought together and find the gameplay pretty fun. It's also the rare game where I don't care about the story, how convoluted it is or let it get in the way of enjoying the game.

Except neither of those HD releases contains the cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts 3D, the most recent one. Most of the game is filler, but the last stage and set of cutscenes/bosses mean huge things, the last elements in place for what will happen in Kingdom Hearts III.

...Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite series.

Yeah, the story veers off into weird territory, but I still enjoy it.

It's actually a good story, but it's told in such a scattered, haphazard way that it's hard to get into. It didn't have to be told this way, but as the video said, the greed is strong here. You end up with games that are mostly padding, but then have a few crucial scenes for the overall story, so stuff is told out of order and has to be explained later, when if they made less games, things would make more sense from the get-go.

I was pretty meh about most of Dream Drop Distance, but then it hits that last world and a bunch of shit goes down. Emotional confrontations, huge revelations, some pretty damn good writing for both protagonists and antagonists, Leonard Nimoy doing an awesome job voicing the main villain. That last part of the game is just one punch after another (and the bosses are hard as fuck, too). Everything's in place for

Xehanort's master plan, a new Keyblade War

to happen. I didn't give a shit about Kingdom Hearts III for a while--hell, wasn't Kingdom Hearts II almost a decade ago?--but now I'm looking forward to it.

Plus if you really wanted to play every game, you had to own what, 4 different systems until recently? Even then, there's I think one or two KH games the US never got.

I can't argue. I hated Roxas and rejoiced when I finally got to use Sora. Does MC Chris always sound like he's on helium?
Because he's actually a squeaky nerd who is bluffing hardcore as hard as he possibly can.
