Funny (political, religious) pictures

that's kind of completely fucked up and evil that that person advocates for those with mental illnesses to be "locked the fucked up," but I guess that's not too far off from how the US at large feels

So long as they don't have to pay for the facilities. The moment they'd have to pay taxes for mental health facilities so people can actually get treatment instead of being left on the streets, they'd want those places shut down and emptied again.

I never knew this was a thing. More info please?
It's kind of detailed, not really something I can type all out here and give it proper attention, but cases of werewolves were treated much like demonic possession. Cases had to be assessed, sometimes people were tortured. Often cases were discovered due to missing children in villages and towns. Some people actually were put in institutions and their behavior was monitored. The Catholic church took it pretty seriously.

There's a free Kindle book that goes into it in more detail, if you're interested. After I read it, I really wanted to write a fiction book on the subject. It takes a few chapters to get to the really interesting stuff, but it goes into the general history as well as a few specific cases.

Hyperbole: 1. obvious and intentional exaggeration.
2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”.

I guess you don't object to people being forced naked into the wilderness to survive on their own. That post is over-the-top ranting meant to mock the drama that "otherkin" drag around with them like a security blanket. If you believe that the writer means every word literally, you might need to be locked up yourself.

"We should do that again" doesn't seem like the joking tone of the previous few lines, not to mention that the "hyperbole" isn't an extravagant statement since it's currently how things work every day in the prison industrial complex / health care (if you can call it that) whole thingy

Almost makes Net Neutrality pale by comparison.

"We'll send you this gift for a simple donation of $24.99"

Is it really a gift if I'm paying, I'm sorry, "donating" for it?

Also, this sounds dire! I need that video, and I need to find a functioning VCR. Stat!

FYI I used to live about 2 miles from that place (they're based in Troy, I used to live in Clawson).
I did not buy a tape.

A friend posted/liked a couple of Anti-Islam pictures on Facebook. They were quite on the tasteless side, then I looked at who posted them originally, Britain First. So I messaged him to stay away from that group since they are literally Nazis. I had to tell him again that they are National Socialists/Fascists... Then he went OH! and took down those messages.

Pull yourself up by your bootstraps was originally a saying that meant something that was impossible to do... Sometimes I think the people that throw that phrase around really knows what it means.

I know that sounds great. But could someone give me a good argument for why this should be the case? The only argument I could think of would be for fake universities that should not have been getting loans in the first place.

it would make (insert the staggering number of loans in default here) human beings happier and only hurt people that think money is more important than human feelings and life

I'm no super economist, but people might take that money that was going to the federal government and maybe JUUUUST maybe, buy consumer goods???
