[TV] Winter HAS COME! - A Game of Thrones

Accept that you will never see another book, and you will be happier. If another book comes out, interesting, but I gave up long ago.

Meh. I preferred the earlier books to the show; some things were bigger/better/different in my imagination. The later books....Not so much. But we can still hold out hope. I like both, but they're different, and I'm much more likely to reread than to rewatch

I don't think the show will be able to wrap up everything satisfactorily, they dropped too much backstory. But it'll do the job for people who only watch the show hopefully.

Nice try Martin, but the book she is releasing was written before To Kill a Mockingbird, it's just being released now, so you still suck at getting books written.

Original pitch letter for A Song of Ice and Fire leaked
Apparently contains info such as who are (or rather, were going to be) the key players in the series, who survives, who dies, etc.
I'm worried that I won't be able to keep myself from reading all those spoilers :Leyla:Luckily, a few things are probably outdated (the one paragraph I did read in that link certainly was, describing romantic relationships that don't have a chance of happening)

Based on the love triangle in that article i'm gonna assume there was no Liana Stark in the plans at that time, and you-know-who was straight up that guy that was supposed to have died but might not have, or might be a distantly related pretender faking it...

George RR Martin announced that he won't be attending San Diego Comic Con this year (as well as World Fantasy Con) because he's staying home to focus on writing Winds of Winter. (via GRRM) Did I step into an ALTERNATE DIMENSION?

I saw George R.R. Martin on campus a couple weeks ago. A&M's library was receiving its five millionth volume, so he handed over a 1st edition Hobbit. He even read the ending to the Hobbit out loud, which was a real treat.

He gave a speech about how he got into fantasy books as a kid. He said that the Lord of the Rings books were not allowed on paperback in the US at first. Something about copyright laws between the UK and US. He couldn't afford the hardcover. Somehow, an American publisher found a shady loophole and printed them in paperback. He bought a copy of Fellowship of the Ring and almost stopped reading after a couple hours because of Tom Bombadil. But he toughed it out and burned through the rest of the book. Then he got to the end and realized he didn't have Two Towers. At that point, he turned to the audience and asked, "do you people have any idea how difficult and agonizing it is to wait so long for the next book?"

You know, at this point i'm starting to think GRRM is some sort of psychic vampire that feeds on fanboy tears...

I for one would not be surprised if hes actually had the books finished for years, and he's just dragging it out for teh lulz.

Of course, it would be very GRRM for him to decide to change the outcome of the books when the last one comes out in 10 to 15 years.
