[TV] Netflix's Daredevil (With Spoilers)

Ok, you know why Daredevil is a good show? Because, for seemingly the first time, Marvel has a GREAT villain. Fisk's scenes are every bit as good to watch as Matt's. Most Marvel films have throw away villains. In fact, all of them with the exception of Loki. That may come from it being a show with a lot of time to set up the Kingpin as a great villain, but then again, what's SHIELD's excuse (This may not be fair, I've only seen half of the first season of Agents of SHIELD, which is still more episodes than Daredevil so far)?

a) I don't really pay attention to who belongs to what house
b) I was just pointing out another show with a good villain, which is getting bad reports from people on this board; in the hopes of having a conversation about the differences and possible other reasons that make DD good. Or, you know, you could shut down the conversation with one sentence. That works too.

Entirely possible. That could be a way to get a version of the Owl more like the comics. Maybe he decides the "costumed individual" route is the path of the future, after Daredevil comes in and makes his impact?
I'd dig it. He'll have half of Kingpin's money and a definite reasons to hate Daredevil and Fisk so that could create everyone's favorite rat-eating gangster.

There was something missing from the series, and I finally put my finger on it. There's no Stan Lee cameo. In the finale, you can see a photo of Stan dressed as a police officer (when the crooked detective turns himself in to Mahoney). But that doesn't really count.

Holy Hannah! O merry masses of Marveldom, why would such a sensational series be missing an astonishing appearance by the king of cameos?

Personally, I hate the Stan Lee cameos. Especially the later ones where he has to have lines or a lot of screen time. I think it takes away from the story and is just stroking his ego. And this is from someone who really likes the guy!

I thought it was neat with him appearing as "random guy in the coffee shop in the background", the ones where he's actually a character, not so much.

I allowed myself ONE episode of Daredevil last night as a reward for finishing up my presentation.

I can't wait to see more. Reminder: there is a spoiler thread going, so please don't enter any spoiler territory here.

Holy shit!!!! Just finished the whole season and it was awesome.

Great first season. Really established the core characters and settings. Love that it was as much an origin of Kingpin as it was of Daredevil. Their conflict is core to both characters and seeing it laid out so well means we can start spending time on how crazy the next season could get as their rivalry for Hell's Kitchen gets into full swing.

Love the setups for season 2... Elektra (mentioned in the college flashbacks), Owl (Leland mention his son after all), and the Hand (probably led by Nobu 2.0). Add to all that Fisk being able to really cut loose as soon as he gets out of jail, I hope he puts a bounty on DD as well as then we'll probably get Bullseye too.

I am much more excited for the other Netflix show now. Well done again Marvel!

Finished it, can finally look at this thread. HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME. I thought I was going to hate the Daredevil suit, since I thought the simple black one was pretty cool looking and believable, but in motion it worked so much better than it did in the still images I had seen.

I'm loving their take on Kingpen. He's a soft spoken monster that turns into a raging bull.

So i'm on ep 12 atm, and i just noticed that the symbol they put on the drugs is the Steel Serpent one from Iron Fist... man, Marvel is really getting better and better at this shit...

There's a ton of little things sprinkled throughout the series, it's nuts. The Elektra reference (that Greek girl they talk about in college), Bullseye possibly being the sniper at that warehouse (cards in his duffel), Stilt Man's legs in the workshop, Nobu's backers in Japan likely being The Hand (plus Stick's mention of a war), and I know I'm forgetting shit or just plain missed some.

I just finished the episode where Fisk goes public. My first reaction was HOW DOES THIS SHOW KEEP GETTING BETTER EVERY SINGLE EPISODE?[DOUBLEPOST=1429503129,1429502880][/DOUBLEPOST]Also kudos on making Fisk sympathetic. Fuzzy good and evil boundaries always do it for me.

Don't forget the Mike Murdock cameo.

When is the Mike Murdock cameo?

Also, there's that dinner date with Fisk and Vanessa. She's talking about going out with Prince, and Fisk perks up when Vanessa mentions how Prince dressed in a white suit and an ascot. That's what Kingpin wears in the comics.

In the second episode, when Claire Temple refers to Matt Murdock as Mike because he hasn't revealed his name to her yet.

It would have been almost criminally stupid of them to pull it after the reception the first season got.

A friend of mine on Facebook thinks they should've got to and finished The Defenders crossover first, before going on to second seasons of any of the series. I think there's still plenty of time to get to AKA Jessica Jones (in production now) and Power Man/Iron Fist, AND Defenders before getting on to more Daredevil. Guess we'll have to see.
