[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

I don't buy that. If it were that simple, not a single villain would have been able to use Kryptonite against Superman in the past. Its weakening effects must have a pretty large radius for any villain to have been able to use it against him. Otherwise every fight with superman against Lex Luthor would be the same as the comic above.

Also, a fight with Superman vs Batman wouldn't be a fight to the death, no matter what the DC/WB universe says.
Honestly I'm sick to death of Batman and Superman fighting. The situations for it are either DKR or horribly contrived (not to mention just wanting to be DKR), with the fight itself being horribly overbooked to give Batman a prayer. Not that either would be interested in the first place.

Henry Cavill Supes should definitely just snap Batman's neck though. After all Batman wouldn't quit what choice would he have.

It's also basically how Metallo almost wins every time he shows up in JL/JLU/Superman Animated, as he's powered by the stuff.
To be fair, there is basically nothing keeping Superman from just frying his brain from like a mile away with his heat vision. Or really, from doing that to anyone and everyone he has to fight.

That came up in an episode of the animated Justice League - their alternate universe counterparts, the Justice Lords, who had taken over Earth, had no compunction about killing or crippling in the service of Justice. However, instead of a Utopia, it was a police state. They saw the "normal" dimension and took the Justice League prisoner for basically not doing a good enough job. As they start taking over, Doomsday shows up, and Lord Superman uses his heat vision to lobotomize him. People freaked the fuck out.

That's the exact reason I brought it up: Superman can literally lobotomize ANYONE he can see. This isn't even the first time he does it in a story: check out "What's so Funny about Truth, Justice, and the American Way?" (or the animated version, Superman Vs. The Elite). The REAL Superman... not Justice Lord Superman or Mind Controlled Superman or anything... literally destroys part of Manchester Black's brain with his heat vision to keep him from abusing his powers.

That's absolutely frightening, even if Black is a villain.

So in this universe, the Joker is from that crop of weird skaters turned reality show douchebags that were popular some years ago?

Okay, so doubtful this is going to be a game-changer like Ledger's.

There is something very late 90's/early 2000's about his look.

it always kind of surprises me how people can make huge generalizations like this based on one single promotional photo, especially when everyone did the exact same thing at every step for THE EXACT SAME CHARACTER just a few years ago and were (mostly) proven hilariously wrong[DOUBLEPOST=1429927302,1429927245][/DOUBLEPOST]
I thought, "I'm curious about this actor. I wonder if he has acted in anything I've seen?"
Nope.

this isn't surprising since A) he's a part time actor and B) he mostly acts in prestige movies

Honestly, I don't hate the overall look. I think the tattoos are a bit much, though. I want to see how he looks in a purple and green suit first before going any further on judging the appearance.

How is thinking he looks like a more traditional Joker a "huge generalization"? When they released Ledger's Joker photos, he was stringy, his make-up was smudged and unfinished, and he was different from most Joker portrayals up to that point. No one said anything about possible performance, but they're obviously playing it safer with the Joker's over-all look this time.

I didn't know they were making a new movie with the Joker, but that picture is enough to intrigue me. It's clearly going to be a different style than Ledger, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.

Iconic characters are going to divide folks no matter the choices made. I don't like the tattoos, and I hope he isn't shirtless throughout the film.

Da fuq? It's one thing to dress him up like a pimp and another NOT TO HAVE DEADSHOT'S PORNSTACHE.

Deadshot without the pornstache is not Deadshot.

Oh man, I can't WAIT for the "Suicide Squad" rap song and accompanying dance routine![DOUBLEPOST=1430430508,1430430431][/DOUBLEPOST]I mean, Joker already has the look down for the "hard gangsta" verse part of it!

I wonder why you didn't see as many jokes about Jared Leto singing an Emo song from 30 Seconds to Mars during the credits? I mean, they're still making music, touring, just won some MTV Music Video awards.....

Will Smith hasn't done anything musically for 10 years, or sung anything on a soundtrack for 15. It's almost like "black" music/rap is seen as less legitimate or something!

also "hard gangsta". lol

Well, when Smith's costume looks like he's trying relive his "Wild Wild West" video and Leto has a grill and looks like a wannabe Juggalo . . .

Speaking as an employee of a station that, until a few months ago, played rock - 30 seconds to mars is, was, and ever shall be sophomoric gobbledygook.
