[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

The character he played wasn't the Joker. He was smashing, but he played something else.
I kind of view Nicholson and Romero as doing a classic version and Ledger doing an Elseworld's one where Joker is a bit less sophisticated and a bit more thuggish. His performance still deserves to be honored like the rest at any rate.

Joker's had so many interpretations and renditions throughout the past 75 years that really, Ledger's interpretation is just as valid as any other.
This.

What everyone, should Jack Nicholson's Joker or Heath Ledger's Joker been a representative of the Shah of Iran? That's comic accurate.

I think the three Jokers pointed out represent a spectrum of what the Joker is. Ramero being the campy Joker and Ledger being the darkly sadistic Joker. Nicholson falls right in between them.

Man, on a podcast I listen to, one of the guys mentions that the tattoos on Jared Leto's Joker, in his opinion, makes him look more like a Joker fanboy than the actual Joker. I can totally agree with that.

If he says he's "The Joker", and he tries to kill Batman, HE'S THE FUCKING JOKER

if he comes from Ktypton, flies, and has an S on his chest, HE'S FUCKING SUPERMAN

deal with it, nerdz

Just like Man of Steel.
*sigh* I didn't want to have another "let's discuss Man of Steel" argument, but sure.

Not exactly. There have been far more different interpretations of Superman than there have been of Joker. Superman, for the most part, has been portrayed as the morally upstanding character with pretty strong ethics. You had the odd hiccup like Man of Steel or the Silver Age Superdickery, but for the most part, he's been the same character with a few tweaks here and there.

Joker, on the other hand, has been a mass murderer, a trickster, a genius, an psychopath (not always both at the same time), a demon summoner (from the late 90s), and recently a super powered immortal. He's either capable of being taken down by one superhero or being a threat to the whole League or the world. Heck, Grant Morrison wrote it that Joker literally changes his entire personality to fit with the times or situation needed. Like his insanity was his super power. His origin has jumped around from former comedian, con man, just a regular guy, etc.

Superman has, for the most part, always been considered an uplifting, inspirational hero. Man of Steel was not that, so it was a big departure for the character over 75 years.

The Shah and the Ayatollah were two very different people. Mr. J and the Ayatollah had a mutually shared goal, and the story had not gotten that far yet in the movies.

No, that's Eradicator. Though, he was billed as Superman for a long time, and people totally believed it.

...

.......

Wait... wait. What if Man of Steel's superman has been ERADICATOR ALL ALONG?!
Now I want the scene from the comics where Steel is punching the crap out of the Eradicator while lecturing him on "That's NOT how Superman acts!"

EDIT: Found the scene I'm talking about:

I didn't know Will Smith was gonna be in this Suicide Squad movie (that I admittedly hadn't heard of until the Joker pic).

I'm actually getting pretty excited for this.

They've released the first picture now of the Suicide Squad line-up.

For those who don't recognize them all, the team members featured are:

Deadshot
Harley Quinn
Rick Flagg
El Diablo
Killer Croc
Enchantress
Captain Boomerang
Slipknot
Katana

Well we know Will Smith is Deadshot, Harley Quinn is fairly obvious between Deadshoot and Shooter Guy #2, I'm guessing the chick with the Japan Flag on her twice carrying a katana is Katana, which means the other woman that looks like a Female Predator Cosplay is 'Enchantress', Killer Croc is next to the varsity jacket zombie on the right side... after that? No idea.

Boomerang is likely the dude in the puffy coat on the left side, and Flagg is probably the one Quinn's leaning on. I don't know El Diablo or Slipknot as characters, so I don't know who's who between tattoos and Tacticool Jr.

I think Slipknot is the guy on the far left with the rope, which leaves El Diablo to be the guy in the letterman jacket on the far right. And yes, Captain Boomerang is the guy in the long coat.

Boy, those cosplayers really put a lot of work into that. I mean, they still look like cheap costumes, but it's just for cons, right?

What do you mean that's for a several million dollar movie? Lol! Wait, what, you're serious? Oh lord.

At this stage of development, that's probably just a production shot. Actors in their costume and makeup, but nothing else. Production shots always look like ass, because the color balance is all wrong and nothing has been touched up to give it that movie gloss. Remember how bad the Ironman suit looked in pre-production?

The costumes all just sort of blend together, save for Katana.

I guess we'll see if it looks better in a trailer. Seems like they're trying to push this movie pretty hard so I wouldn't be surprised to see a teaser sooner rather than later.

I honestly don't remember. I vaguely recall liking the design at the time.

Anyway, I had good faith on Superman's Man of Steel design. And I got burned there. But this is giving me more Green Lantern vibes.
