Minor victory thread

My main pc is working again. It's a minor victory because it's no longer overclocked and I don't have usb3 or sata 6gb or extra pci ports and frankly, I'm afraid the motherboard is going to melt if I start gaming on it.

It could be something simple. Have you checked to see if there's a bowling ball-sized hole through the middle of it?

Just picked up a new bike. There's a local bike shop that buys out overstock previous year bikes, and sells them at a discount. I took it out for a short ride last night, can't wait to really break it in.

Not my picture, but this is the bike.

Washing machine broke.
Service call $50 + hourly rate + who knows how long of a parts delay? Nope.
Buy new $350 washing machine and move it into the basement. Hell no.

$6 belt from hardware store across the street + 15min YouTube video? Yes, please.

My washing machine is broken too. Service call would mount to at least €85. I'd love to DIMyself but I have no clue what's broken or how to repair it. Plus, no space to take it apart in a small apartment. So....yeah, €350+ it'll be. Sigh.

Got to go fishing today at Chapman's Landing on the Shenandoah River . The river was too muddy and fast to catch anything, but this looks like a great spot. I'll be back.

Yeah, the video's vertical. I took it with my phone. Sue me.

The heat of the moment where the water is too muddy to even remotely standing a chance of getting a fish to strike? I know, it's adrenaline-pumped non-stop action from the word "go," amirite? :p
My bobber kept jiggling. I coulda got a bite at any minute, yo.

But you're right. The water was way too muddy, and moving much too fast due to the rain the day before. I mostly was going out to check the site out. And from what I've seen, it looks like an ideal place to catch some fish when the river conditions are better. There's a nice slow-moving eddy right at the fishing site that I'm sure will be productive.

I had a very vivid dream last night. Like weirdly vivid. I'm not saying much about what it is because...

I told a friend about it and he said, "Whoa. That sounds like it would make an awesome movie. Paul Giamatti would fit perfectly in that role."

And he's right. So I looked online and there's never been anything like it. So now I'm going to learn how to write a screenplay because I think the idea is just that good. I even have a couple tentative titles. "The Last Laugh" or "The Best Medicine" are the two that stand out.

Oh, and if any of you have ANY screenwriting capability, hit me up. I'll pitch it to you and see what you think.

I picked up a transcript yesterday at my Alma-mater. The kid behind the counter asked me if I was a recent grad... Really? I've been out of college for 21 years now.

So I guess it means I still look a little bit young to a college kid.

Well, it's actually not all that uncommon these days for older people to go back to college. There's even a meme about it.

Yay. AAA issued a $49 refund for my canceled membership. Should hit my bank account by Friday.

Boo. Didn't refund the "same day service fee" of $35, even though no service was performed the day I signed up. Turns out the basic fee for a service call in that area is higher than the same day fee, and the refund I am getting could have been less.
