AMERICA. PEP-SI.
AMERICA.
I don't think the second one is a fail; I think those are tracks for walking your bike up/down the stairs more easily.Would you like 132 construction fails?
You're probably right. Somebody in the imgur comments thread pointed that out (most of us americans assumed it was for a wheelchair for some reason), but when you post an imgur album, you don't get to pick which pictures come along - you either take the whole thing, or copy over the pictures one by one the old fashioned way. And there were 130+ of them.I don't think the second one is a fail; I think those are tracks for walking your bike up/down the stairs more easily.
I wasn't really calling you out or anything, it was just an observation. Yes, if they were for a wheelchair, that would be... well, honestly it'd probably be hilarious. Tragic, but hilarious. You're probably right. Wheelchairs wouldn't get traction if wet, I've seen similar in Sweden for skis, though I suppose they must remove the skis when they get to non-snowy underground. You're probably right. TIL: "Clunge." And I thought I'd heard them all.Hahahaha, this is the most amazing thing I have ever read. And this is published? AMAZING.
There was a joke on one of the Big Fat Quiz shows that a penis is therefore a clunge plunger.TIL: "Clunge." And I thought I'd heard them all.
No, not actually published. That's not really a quote from the book. The author is pretty livid that this is going around with her name on it.Hahahaha, this is the most amazing thing I have ever read. And this is published? AMAZING.
I sent that over to Kati, because she sure does enjoy her some silly, lurid prose, and she replied:[RoughAndReady.jpg.png]
"But," I replied, "it was funny though, wasn't it?"Kati said:I'm not buying it. The sample I read on Amazon wasn't Tolstoy, but it wasn't that awful. The author is sometimes humorous and I suspect it was some sort of purposely silly passage, if it really was in the book at all. Besides, no chick is going to skip foreplay, describe boobs that thoroughly, or describe sex smells as "stinky."
EDIT: ...aaand @figmentPez with the ninja corroboration.Kati said:Imma def repost that.
"He entered her like she was the lottery"
Then she should hire whoever wrote that. Because it's amazing. No, not actually published. That's not really a quote from the book. The author is pretty livid that this is going around with her name on it.
"I’m not sure who you people are, but before you mock something, make sure you know what you’re talking about. That “exceprt” that was presumably taken from my book is in fact NOT an excerpt. Check page 222 of ROUGH AND READY and you will see that someone is having fun with you, putting in their own purple prose. I don’t mind constructive criticism, but this borders on libel."

I've already ranted about this sort of sloppy "marketing math" multiple times.I think someone tried to do the math, and found that a 10.75 divided by 15.2 equals about .7, and figured that means that 15.2 is 30% more. And then no one double-checked before they printed labels and shipped cans.
From my many visits to Western PA, I found out that Dollar General does not price everything at $1, they charge whatever they want (could be $1), it seems they are aiming for bargain pricing, which doesn't come out much cheaper than CVS. You can drive past a different shop with "Dollar" in the name every 10 minutes. Also, I think these size cans may exist to sell at Dollar General, so that the price is an exact dollar. I'm not sure though.
Yeah... the concept of a "dollar store" is kind of gone these days, as a dollar has basically no purchasing power anymore. As for seeing so many dollar stores these days... that's because they specifically target low income neighborhoods in the same way that video stores do. The only people interested in buying almost expired food and overstocked cloths are people who can't afford any better or don't have the means to get to better priced location. My local Dollar General sells stuff like milk and meat at double the price of the Kroger 2.5 miles away (and it's way worse quality) but many in the Mexican neighborhood right next to it can't get down there when they need to. It's really exploitive. From my many visits to Western PA, I found out that Dollar General does not price everything at $1, they charge whatever they want (could be $1), it seems they are aiming for bargain pricing, which doesn't come out much cheaper than CVS. Last time I was in one around here, all the prices were in even dollars. They had stuff for $5, $8, $25, whatever, but all of it was rounded. Nothing had a .99 or .80 on the end. From my many visits to Western PA, I found out that Dollar General does not price everything at $1, they charge whatever they want (could be $1), it seems they are aiming for bargain pricing, which doesn't come out much cheaper than CVS. There's one right next to my mom's house. Kind of shows you what sort of economic state my hometown is in.Yeah... the concept of a "dollar store" is kind of gone these days, as a dollar has basically no purchasing power anymore. Believe it or not, it seems @SeraRealm actually posted this back in March of 2012.[RoughAndReady.jpg.png]
