I couldn't help it. It was the one game that I've looked forward to more than any other for years. It's also the first pre-order I've done for a very long time, too.
Wow... that's... holy shit. Even if I had a system capable of playing Destiny, that would put me right off. That is SERIOUS bullshit. So the director of Destiny's upcoming xpac is basically a gaping maw of an asshole.
He sounds like someone that thinks he's really great at talking and explaining. Like... thinks he's the greatest, and is excited to show off that ability every chance he gets. He probably thinks he's way better than anyone else at it.He said one thing, though, that's not totally wrong. There are definitely folks who would throw money at their screen to buy just the emotes.
Unfortunately, he spends the entire interview sounding like a petulant child, so any valid point is lost.
I have to admit, I really like the Let's Plays of it on Achievement Hunter; Geoff, Ryan, and Jack seem to make a good team. I wouldn't say it looks boring, but I think it is valid to say that it's very grindy at times - grind for gear, then grind to upgrade that gear, etc. I've also heard that the expansions (Vault of Glass, House of Wolves, etc) do help with adding variety. But the way they're selling The Taken King is a giant turkey slap to their player base.I suppose he doesn't realize that Destiny looks and is said to be a boring game.
It can be just as addicting as any MMO, the issue with Destiny being however repetitive you think something like WoW or FFXIV might be, you have to multiply it ten-fold. Destiny is insanely barren once you reach the level cap and the leveling process becomes a grind on par with the oldest JRPGs. It's fun in concept but in reality felt like a huge chore.I suppose he doesn't realize that Destiny looks and is said to be a boring game.
This, basically. Lots of fun while you're progressing at first, but then you notice 90% of every level is "stand here while bored Dinklebot scans shit and waves of aliens shoot you."I enjoyed the shit out of Destiny, but in between level cap and raid-equivalence, it's grindy as hell. By the time I was raid-ready, I just didn't care anymore and stopped playing.
To each their own for liking it, but I think a Let's Play of friends playing a game who have good teamwork and charisma can make most games look enjoyable. Then you get on yourself and find a world population of jerks*.I have to admit, I really like the Let's Plays of it on Achievement Hunter; Geoff, Ryan, and Jack seem to make a good team. I wouldn't say it looks boring, but I think it is valid to say that it's very grindy at times - grind for gear, then grind to upgrade that gear, etc. I've also heard that the expansions (Vault of Glass, House of Wolves, etc) do help with adding variety. On par with current generation. Even though, as one commenter said, "On par? Really? So my pc that is stronger than a console isn't running it 'on par'. And you think that's okay?"The Recommended Spec is intended to deliver an experience on par with the current generation of gaming platforms.
Refunding will at least send a message. Can't say whether anyone will listen.Gmg offers refunds if these issues aren't fixed by first patch.
No idea how much I like this. I hope the tide of shit dev behaviour is getting a kick to the curb with steam / gmg offering refunds

Yeah, that's a big move right there.Whoa. Didn't expect that.
Not for a AAA title, at least that I know of.Holy shit, has that been done before?
Not until we see what the companies learn from this. If they learn to do competent, mostly-stable releases (PC stability will ALWAYS be an issue) then it's done it's job. But it's equally likely they'll look at the refunds going through and ether decide not to do major PC releases at launch anymore or stop selling through Steam... or badger Steam into reversing the policy.Steam refunds doing it's job.
I think it's important to note that this wasn't Steam pulling sales for a non-functioning game but rather Warner Bros.. I would expect Steam to do this, they have in the past, though admittedly nothing this high profile. When it's the publisher doing it, acknowledging that they have royally fucked up, it does sit a little nicer. I can't imagine any long term change coming from this unfortunately, in terms of how games are published now a days.Steam has pulled the sale of Arkham Knight until further notice.:
He would have paid more than $60 just to ship it. The box would have only been like 10 pounds but the volume would have meant shipping fairly large boxes.
Need to head over to a certain alley in Northgate in College Station with a backhoe, we'll be zillionaires."It took him years"? Seriously? I've seen more than 2000 bottle caps thrown away at an average party.
Plenty of places where you can get them recycled, often with a cash-in value. The sad part of this? I had the same idea. I'm sitting on a few thousand caps myself but hadn't gotten around to sending them in yet. Now I'm wondering what the fuck I'm supposed to do with them.
