So is Rich telling us that the persons/creatures wearing red shirts are going to die?
As I recall, those characters always had red shirts as part of their standard uniform.

Really wondering if Rich is gonna do anything big for this one. I doubt it, since he's never been one to celebrate anniversary number strips. But still, can't help but wonder.

Actually, he did a lot of effort to time #200 correctly (the big #100 was supposed to be the gang facing off Xykon, but the story ran a bit long), #50 also was "not exactly but in-comic sort of a big deal", #300 had a big and cool splash page and #400 the big ship. I think he wrote once that he liked to go against the expectations of his readers in order to surprise them even more, and he hasn't done anything special with the last couple of 'anniversaries' (if you can call strips above #500 like that), but getting to 1000 will surely be adressed, one way or another.
Is it wrong that I want a side-adventure or short spin-off with Blackwing and the other animals?

The moment he said he was out of spell slots, I full-on winced.
Probably better that he was silenced at that point, otherwise the comic would require a "Mature" rating.
