Minor victory thread

I have wildly thick hair that grows really quickly but sadly it still seems to take forever to get long. Plus I have curly hair so it doesn't look as long as it really is.
That's my problem as well. If I don't cut it at least once a month, I end up getting the "Mexican Afro." :p

The dreaded fro is why I always ended up cutting my hair after a few months previously when i tried to grow my hair out. But this time I am determined to suffer through it until the weight of the hair finally gets enough to have it fall down

I have been wanting to get a new tattoo sometime soon. I was thinking about getting a huge Transmutation circle on my back like the one that Hawkeye had in FMA. But I think that may be to intricate in detail to last very long. :(

Wow, that's some pretty good quality body art there. Good shading.

I never really felt like I needed to get a tattoo, but if I was going to get one, it'd probably be the old Cobra insignia on the side of my shoulder.

And if I ended up liking that one enough... maybe the Galactic Empire insignia on the other.
She was worth the wait for sure. No stencil this time either, she made a quick outline with a marker and went for it.

Is that actually Shakespeare?

I watched The Comedy of Errors at an amphitheater last week.
It's actually the name of their summer nighttime program. Usually they close at 5, but on this one night they stay open until after dark. They have lights on the trees and luminaries along the paths. They put some neon paint on the leaves of a few trees, then had a blacklight under them so it looked like fairy lights or wisps in the trees. There were activities for kids and decorations made from recycled materials. They also had a kendo demonstration, lion dancers, a group of Native American dancers, a belly dancing demonstration, and live music.

But, it just so happened that they had an acting troupe perform an abridged version of Midsummer Night's Dream. Four actors and they did all the parts (e.g. The actor who played Oberon was also Lysander and Francis Flute. He was incredible.). I was so happy!

That sounds awesome!
It was very cool. I hope it's a yearly event. I also hope I learn to take better nighttime pictures because most of them didn't turn out so good.
The only reason I put this in minor victory is because I told my neighbors about it. The plan I had for my family ended up turned into us meeting up with the four of them to hang out. I love my neighbors and we (the four adults) have a lot of fun, but when we hang out together with their two very young children (nearly 2 year old and a 3.5 year old) it's so much more stressful. Last night was par for the course.

I did a mile run today because I was just so frustrated with my daughter that I couldn't take it anymore, and had a minute faster pace than any other time I timed my mile. Clearly I should thank her for being so strong willed today. [emoji14]

Sadly, my Fitbit was dead, so I didn't get to check my heartrate for that run, and I was somewhat curious as I was able to slow down and recover without walking well enough to be able to speed up again for the first time ever.

We bought a car yesterday. It's a minor victory b/c we now have a car payment for the first time ever. I've only had high-mileage beat-up cars. It's nice to have a low-mileage car without anything that needs repairs. It's also nice to have a car that you can't hear coming from a mile away.

Had a super long conversation with my mom over what happened today and she did what great moms do and made me feel a lot better. My mom is a super lady and I am lucky to be her son.

She's always been great to my girlfriends in the past, which, from what I understand from a lot of my exes, is definitely not always the case. She especially loved the current ex and I know it broke her heart to hear this.

The Kroger referred to locally as the "yuppie Kroger" due to it's size and stock now carries Ommegang Three Philosophers. Only a minor victory because I didn't buy any this visit. And at $16.99 a 4-pack, it may continue to be a minor victory.

All Krogers around here are Yuppie Krogers... fuck, ALL of them have sushi bars now.

The nearest Kroger to me has a furniture department. They sell clothing, too.
Ours has the small furniture department too, along with a huge whole/organic foods section and a sizable ethnic section with stuff from all over. Krogers went upscale in Ohio when the banks moved in and because they couldn't beat Walmart in price. So now they beat it in quality.

Our neighborhood has a Kroger Signature which is marketing speak for "small". It's pretty good, and everyone knows the regular customers.
