Did you try a different USB cable? So when I plug my phone into my computer with a USB cord, it's a complete crapshoot whether it'll work. Sometimes it'll say it doesn't recognize the device. Sometimes it'll show up, but as soon as I try to copy files into my phone or download files from it, it'll say "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected" and stop recognizing any files at all.
I can copy small files, usually. Like a photo, basically something only a few MB in size. But anything bigger than that and it'll trigger the error. Disconnecting and plugging the phone back in doesn't work. Restarting the phone doesn't work. Restarting my computer doesn't work. Reinstalling drivers doesn't work. Reinstalling Samsung's Kies software doesn't work.
Stupid Android. Stupid Samsung. Stupid Windows. Stupid USB. I don't know who to blame so I'm blaming you all.
Yep, three different cables. Same thing happens. I can find no pattern to the error. It just sometimes works, like once out of ten tries.Did you try a different USB cable?
So... I should dim the screen?Almost sounds like the phone is drawing too much power.

USB ports are rated for a certain amount of power draw. If your phone is expecting you to be using USB3 ports, for example, then it is expecting your computer to provide 900ma instead of the usual 500ma. You can troubleshoot this by trying to connect your phone through a powered USB hub (if you have one).So... I should dim the screen?
Hmm... no powered USB hub, unfortunately, but that does sound interesting.USB ports are rated for a certain amount of power draw. Tried different USB ports, but haven't tried with a different computer. And I assumed you tried a different USB port, and a different computer?
Might just be easiest to do your copying over wifi, honestly.
Dropbox.Hmm... no powered USB hub, unfortunately, but that does sound interesting.

What would be the best way to transfer files over wifi? Get two Skype accounts and have the send files between each other, for example?
This could be a weird coincidence, but Mr. Z and I have had a similar problem with our Samsungs and their USBs ever since we came back from Taiwan. I have to use a different USB to charge it at night, and when I have to use it's original USB to transfer things to the PC, it has to be at just the right angle or nothing happens. So when I plug my phone into my computer with a USB cord, it's a complete crapshoot whether it'll work. No need, just share a folder on the computer, and load ES File Explorer on the phone. When your phone's on the wifi, have it search for LAN servers, and you can browse into the share and then copy/paste the files from one place to the other. What would be the best way to transfer files over wifi? Ok... unfortunately I think I'm gonna need you to be a bit more specific. For example, does the computer need to be connected to the same wifi?[DOUBLEPOST=1439398114,1439397555][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh hey I think I got it working. ES File Explorer can scan my computer for the folder and copy files now. Woo hoo!No need, just share a folder on the computer, and load ES File Explorer on the phone. That happened to me once a few years ago. Well, it wasn't a nice fat raise, it was a bullshit 5% raise... and 3 months later it still hadn't reflected on my paycheck. So I turned in my 2 weeks... suddenly it all got fixed.Got a promotion with a nice fat raise last month. 2 Paychecks in and I've yet to see it reflected in the check. On the bright side my next paycheck is going to be HUGE.
Amazing how that works isn't it?That happened to me once a few years ago. Well, it wasn't a nice fat raise, it was a bullshit 5% raise... and 3 months later it still hadn't reflected on my paycheck. So I turned in my 2 weeks... suddenly it all got fixed.
I can expect a 7% raise the first of the year. Only because it's mandated by state law. That happened to me once a few years ago. Dissociation episode. Everyone gets them now and again. I actually think there's a biological reason for this, kinda like deja vu where our brain looks for reference points from the past in our present. Dr Adam prescribes 2 hours of video games, a chocolate bar and a highly caffeinated drink. We'll have you right as rain in no time.Man, I am having a rough day and I don't know why or even how to properly explain why it's a bad day. I feel off like I am not myself. I usually have some for of disconnection from life and have for as long as I can recall but today feels more so. I feel liek I don't belong and am playing a role that belongs to someone else. Even when I look in the mirror I don't look right or feel right it's like something is off and I don't know what it is.

That's why when I absolutely need a day off I just call in sick and never bother trying to book it off.Fuck off eh. Guy who has his vacation request denied calls in sick for that day.
We just hired a new guy... the guy I don't like, but he seems intelligent enough. Next week or so, I'll start training him to be my backup, so I'll be allowed to do things like get sick or take days off once in a while. Right now if I do that... the whole durn opera flies apart.I guess I'm lucky in that theres never a particular day that I need to be at work, so I don't have issues with vacation days.
Of course, I haven't actually taken one this year other than my ones from last year that were going to expire...
Yeah, the wookie. No, no way. It's bad enough I'm getting virtual people leaking over into my real life, I don't wanna have to deal with real people leaking over into my virtual life, too.Is this your doppelganger? Are you training him on halforums usage, too?
"And this is how you direct virtual avatars of internet strangers into having highschool sex, now make sure you... wait, where are you going? Why are you calling the cops?"Yeah, the wookie. No, no way. It's bad enough I'm getting virtual people leaking over into my real life, I don't wanna have to deal with real people leaking over into my virtual life, too.
