Movie News & Miscellany

Rumor mill says there's a Mega Man entering development.

The bad news? It would be live-action.

The other bad news? Developed by Fox.

Don't know how legit this is yet, but sites are carrying it. Then again, the Zelda/Netflix deal seemed legit and wasn't, so who knows.
See... my concern here is they are going to grimdark this shit. If they want to do that, make a Mega Man X movie and it'll be fine... but the original series is far more optimistic than the X, Zero, and XY series ever were. It NEEDS to be kid friendly. It needs to be a hopeful.

Though really, what this actually needs is to do is be turned into a CG movie by Dreamworks.

That latter part is my first big sticking point. I just don't think the character designs would translate well into a costume that an actor would wear.

No, Gentlemen... as much as I love both The Protomen and The Megas, I am afraid their is only one man who can lead this soundtrack: Mega Ran.

... then again, Capcom might be feeling a bit sore since he's doing the end theme for Mighty No. 9.

Though it's impressive how each band has it's own take on the games: Mega Ran paints Wily the villain and Rock/Mega Man as a hero looking for love against all odds, The Megas admit that Dr. Light might not be the hero he claims to be and that Wily is just as much a victim as the people he fights and is ultimately right that the only problem with the robots is that they aspire to be/obey flawed humans, while The Protomen are prophets of doom, warning the world about what can happen when people refuse to fight back against these mad men who unleashed robots onto their city. Every interpretation is original and different, but ALL are correct.

"on my hd recorder right now and haven't watched yet": Stone, John Rabe, the boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Star Trek: Into Darkness, De Rouille et d'Os, Le Gamin au Velo, John Carter, The A-Team, Mulholland Drive, World War Z, Life of Pi, The girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Virgin Suicides. As for TV, Agent carter episodes 3 and 4. Forever, new episodes. Castle, the last half of the last season. And a bunch of concerts and music.
Add to that my DVDs (I own season 4 of Game of Thrones and haven't watched it yet. Imagine.) and DVD movies (Pacific Rim, for example, still haven't seen it), and Castaway, if I ever watch it, will have to wait for quite a while longer.

Would you seriously say Castaway is that good a movie that I should delete some of those others to make room for when they'll inevitably replay it somewhere? Eh.

It definitely should come before John Carter, A-Team, Mulholland Drive, World War Z, Castle, and a couple of the others that I don't know what they are.

Bump them all back. Delete World War Z, add Cast Away, watch it before any of those other movies.

Bubble I remember it being a really slow moving FedEx commercial. Save yourself 143 minutes.
This was pretty much the general consensus as I was aware of it; I was actually quite surprised to suddenly have a thousand people tell me it's awesome :p

Anyway, I'll add it to the list of movies I may want to catch one day :p

I didn't say it was awesome, I said it was culturally significant. But quite a bit of what you listed as being in your queue to watch was absolute shit. I mean it. Stinking, reeking, unredeemable shit.

It's just too bad that Life of Pi won a VFX oscar by destroying the lives and livelihoods of the VFX company employees without whom it would have been two hours of footage of a guy in a pool in front of a green screen.

Yeah, some real shady shit went down on that movie. Like it made some of the stuff that goes down in the games industry look legit... it was just that horrible.

I contend that while Castaway is not a bad film, it is not a must-watch awesome film.

I propose that we explain the joke in Nick's image to Bubble, so that he can also enjoy it, without having to watch Castaway as a prerequisite. Explaining the joke probably won't affect his enjoyment of the film, should he decide to watch it in the future.

Any objections?
