[Rant] Minor Rant III: For a Few Hollers More

Is she aware he's not an American hero? Or American? Or anything closely resembling a hero?
Hey, we never get St. Patrick's Day off, so whatever, Columbus complainers.
I have long since stopped trying to sway my mom with logic. ;)

Everything is funnier in a Scottish accent.

Except Cho Chang. That girl is a buzzkill.
She's also not nearly as hot as the books had led me to believe. I mean, she's not unattractive, far from it. It's just that the books described her as someone who made Harry's internal organs do loops.

EDIT: although her Yule Ball dress was pretty awesome.

The books did give her a bit more imagination, but for the sake of brevity, I guess, they just seemed to cut her part in the movies to her being uncertain or depressed. She was Hufflepuff's Eeyore. (Her dress was very nice, tho'.)

Hot to Harry doesn't mean that she'll do the same for you. Obviously Harry's tastes changed too, he went with the redhead.

Clearly. Practically every other possible love interest int he movies was prettier than Ginny. I know just beauty isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things, but it's still funny (to me) that Luna, Cho, Hermione and half a dozen others are all prettier than Ginny.

The fuck? No, no, no a thousand times no. They were all pretty, but Ginny was the cutest. For obvious, manifest, undeniable and inarguable reasons.

I enjoy how this conversation is all about how fictional girls don't meet your high beauty standards. I am picturing neckbeards everywhere. ;)
Clean-shaven and married to a woman for almost 27 years now. Heck, my mom didn't even have a basement.

Just as an aside, you really don't find very many basements in Texas at all. Just not something that was ever really practical.

I don't have particularly high beauty standards. At the risk of coming off as quite crude, my girlfriend is at no risk of winning a beauty pageant - and neither am I. I'm just comparing books, imagination and movies. In the books, and my imagination, Ginny's supposed to be a somewhat homely girl who grows into a beautiful woman, Ugly Duckling style. In the movies, not exactly. Hermione was supposed not to be all that pretty unless magicked/made up all the way as for the Yule Ball. In the first movies, it was sort-of OK - the "Hollywood" version of "not all that pretty" (which is usually still prettier than 80% of girls). After Prisoner of Azkaban they pretty much gave up on that (see also: the boob job they gave her on all promotional material for Goblet of Fire, which I really thought was out of place considering she was playing a 15 or 16 year old...) and just turned her into the pretty protagonist girl.[DOUBLEPOST=1444754580,1444754491][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hermione's hair is redder than Ginny's. Back to you :p
