I don't think that sort of realism is a priority in these cases. I mean, really, ANY sort of intrusion of this nature over a centimeter or so in thickness would probably cause problems, and also set off that gag reflex and not let go.

Could probably alleviate that with simultaneous intubation, but I'm thinking it's enough of a niche product that the revenue from any "authentic" production wouldn't even cover the cost(s) of hiring a sufficiently competent medical staff necessary to pull off something like that.

So, my guess at interpreting googlish is, Thomas the Spiderbot was constructed by Sir Topham Hat after losing his mind when "the war" devastated everything. The spider tank has AI, a death ray, radio control, and... a flame thrower maybe? In any case, it is actually a functioning remote control toy with a 300mW laser attachment which is strong enough to light a match or pop a black balloon.
