Movie News & Miscellany

So... is this were we start speculating that they'll let Marvel have the movie rights back? Cause I know we're all thinking it, right?

If they want, Fox can sit on the property for another 6 years before they need to do another movie to hold onto the rights. Which is part of the reason this movie got rushed out.

The National Board of Review has announced the pick for best movie of the year and it is a bit of an upset.

Hmm. Amazing, largely practical effects. Reviving a long dead franchise under the original creator's hands and making it even better than the originals. Minimal dialogue that still somehow provides full fleshed out characters. A realized world without unnecessary exposition, essentially a master class on showing, not telling. Yeah, I think that's fair.

Adam Sandler presents, The Ridiculous 6, a pre-parody of Tarantino's The Hateful 8, because they're totally equivalent levels of talent.

-_- Netflix, this is not what I subscribe to you for.

Wait, that's an actual horror movie? Looking at the cast, I had just assumed a tongue-in-cheek, Evil Dead type thing.
It's horror, but with tongue firmly in cheek. Have you ever seen Trick R Treat? It's by the same people, so I imagine it'll be a lot like it.
Trick R Treat is amazing and everyone should see it.

I'd say it's more like Gremlins.
That's actually a pretty apt comparison.

Sure it's posted elsewhere. I hate to admit it, but I may actually go see this.
I don't know why you'd hate to admit that. It looks like a case of the movie makers actually listening to fans. People wanted more comedy, less grim dark, foot soldiers that are actually ninjas, Casey Jones, etc, and this trailer seems to be their response to say "we're listening"

It looks like the G.I. Joe: Retaliation of anthropomorphic turtle movies.

Clearly someone has made a mistake. This is not the lineup of current girl-band, Disney: Kids, twenty-something sweeties we've come to expect in "girl" movies.
