[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

Yeah, that looks about how I expected it to after Man of Steel. Plus, it's not bad enough that this movie will shoehorn in WW and I assume cameos by the other future Justice Leaguers but now we have Doomsday too.

there is a zero percent chance this doesn't have a $100m opening weekend. literally zero.
Hey Charlie, weren't you the one saying how great the new Fantastic Four movie was gonna be....

What's weird is that, while I may be remembering it wrong, I don't remember MOS feeling that way. I remember them advertising it that way, but not the actual movie.

Even if we step away from the DCCU/MCU comparisons (which I do agree with @fade), this movie has a lot a problems just as a DC property. 3 trailers in and all we've gotten from it is "U R stupid and not a true American an alien." "No, U R stupid!" *punchpunchpunchpunch* I'm really hoping against hope that there's more build-up, but right now they're having us believe that the two paragons of the DCU are going to just hit each other because there can be only one?

But the same thing bothers me in these trailers that bothered me in Man of Steel: aren't these guys supposed to be heroes? Isn't their entire conflict about how to best protect people? We get shot-after-shot of them leveling entire neighborhoods but not actually saving anyone except themselves. (Okay, for Clark it makes sense, because we've established that the movie Kents f*cked up at teaching him empathy.) So, where are the actual heroics? Of course, it probably won't hurt it's bottom dollar because a)they're banking on name recognition alone, and b) as Michael Bay has proved, people will pay to see action/sh*t blown up, regardless of plot.

Also, after rewatching the trailer, I'm sooooo glad they made Batman's ending pose with a gun. If I'm thinking of pro-gun superheroes, Batman is always at the top of the list.

I don't really understand how the movie's drawing power has anything to do with its quality anyway. How is that relevant? McDonalds sells billions, so does that mean it's fine cuisine?

Everyone here seems so obsessed with hating DC movies and saying the same thing every time anything comes out about them.
Because it's the same shittiness every time anything comes about them. If they present new shittiness, then we'll have something new to say.

It'll probably be better than Fantastic Four 2015.

I find it odd that they show Bruce Wayne showing dark emotions. Batman does that sure, but Bruce is the bubbly mask he wears. And unless Bruce knows that Kent is Supes why would he spend any time talking to him.

Also needs more Catwoman.

Because this is going to be a poorly-written poorly-directed piece of shit.

Because he's a reporter. Bruce Wayne does speak to them, although I would expect him to give less with his answers. Maybe this version of Batman doesn't see his time as Bruce Wayne as being a waste of precious Batman time.

Something else though: the way Clark says "the bat vigilante" makes it sound as if Batman is a new thing, whereas everything we see of the Batcave suggests he's been at this for a while.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, I think Jesse Eisenberg looks perfect as Arcade.
That's actually a really good point. He looks and is acting like Arcade, and that would have been a pretty cool choice for an upcoming X-Men movie.

Civil War seriously raises the question of "How does the world deal with superheroes?" and the Sokovia Accords are the world's answer. Iron Man's team supports the accords because, as the Ultron incident shows, even heroes can cause tremendous damage when acting on impulse. Captain's team opposes the accords because his history with HYDRA using SHIELD from within shows the inherent danger of a corrupt agency with that level of power. Both viewpoints are justified.

I have no fucking idea what the conflict in Batgrim vs Superdark: Dark of Grimdark will be. I mean, Bruce Wayne's line doesn't even make any goddamn sense. "I have a bad history with people who think they're special and dress up like clowns"... says the man who dresses like a bat, has a private array of military grade weapons and vehicles, and beats up criminals at night. And honestly, why would Lex Luthor give a fuck about some reporter from the Daily Planet meeting face to face with a wealthy industrialist from a different city? And why would Clark Kent think that Bruce Wayne had anything of substance to say about the "bat vigilante"?

At least they brought a cave troll.

You know, the feeling I got from Clark and Bruce's conversation is that they both know who the other is.

Not sure about Lex, since he's such a wacky character.

All three of them have to be playing the I know you know that I know that he knows that we know that you know that I know....
That's the only way it makes any sense ... except in the same scene, Clark asks who Bruce Wayne is, which is something everybody in DCU should know.

Falconi literally says "You're Bruce Wayne, you'd have to go a thousand miles to find someone who doesn't know who you are," in Batman Begins. Seems like a reporter for a major paper should know such a public figure.

Reporter at E3 "Hey, who is that over there?"
Valet "How do you not know who Bill Gates is?"
Reporter's boss "You're fired."

Bill Gates is just a billionaire, philanthropist, tech industry leader.

Bruce Wayne is a billionaire, philanthropist, tech industry leader, most eligible bachelor, son of a mogul, famously orphaned as a child, gossip column regular.

Clark Kent not recognizing Bruce Wayne is inexcusable.

this movie is going to be HUGELY successful. Like, 750 million easily, possibly a billion. It's BATMAN AND SUPERMAN.
I wish you weren't probably right. A costly failure (no matter how spectacular) might finally get the studios thinking twice before they automatically greenlight something just based on the napkin synopsis.
I mean, this looks like it's going to be the the DC version of Spider-Man 3 what with all the unnecessary shoehorning.

Spider-man 3 is likely one of Charlie's favorite movies of all time, so your analogy might go over his head.

Honestly, I think it's going to be worse. I'm worried about Captain America 3 feeling bloated, but at least a lot of those cameo names are small-timers who can be safely ignored in the background if you don't know who they are. Kind of hard to just caually throw in the Flash or Green Lantern.

I'll bet even money I'm one of probably 2 people in this thread who won't see this opening weekend.

I'm honestly frustrated by the amount of people bitching about how bad movies are, but line up to see them.

Considering how rare it is to get to see a movie in the theater lately, I guess I'm #2. Honestly, unless it gets rave reviews, I'll most likely see it on tv, like Man of Steel or The Dark Knight Returns.

Well, there is another...

Guess with me that makes three. At this point, this isn't even a "I'll buy it when it comes out on bluray, " just nothing there that interests me.

I will probably watch this on DVD when it gets to Netflix. I wouldn't waste my time watching this in theaters.
