I don't know yet about Hitman. In theory it's the type of game that could do really well, released episodically. Ten main missions, a pack with 5 missions, another pack with 5 missions from another POV (whatsherface), another 5 to tie those two together into one arc, whatever - if they start off with a good engine and a good idea of where to go with the story. They could easily build it into 5x as many missions as any Hitman game before, and still have them all make sense and be fun - and people willing to put down a lot more than for "just" one game.
Of course, considering the last Hitman games, they're probably just doing it in a desperate money grab and will abandon it after 7 missions with a bunch of bugs, an unfinished story, and no idea what to do.
