For the same reason, they also dedicate literally zero resources. The guys doing the port were probably spending 90% of their time working on other things, and all they needed to street the port was have it run successfully a pithy number of times on what they consider to be "consumer-equivalent" PCs.
And, again, Japan doesn't really have a market for consumer PCs outside of gamers so they tend to be pretty expensive, do a lot of PC stuff in Japan is built for low spec pcs, which is why everything runs like shit on higher end ones elsewhere. Shitty PC ports are just another symptom of Japanese cultural myopia.
And XSeed has done rather good PC ports of stuff like Ys. It's only when they have a Japanese company doing the porting that it ends up running like shit.

The Ys releases have been pure gold and if anyone here loves challenging action-RPGs I highly recommend grabbing anything outside of the Ys I/II package (they look nice but are very dated and difficult).
Gametrailers.com is shutting down. I was never a frequenter of the site, but I know it was enjoyed by others. Always sad to hear good people losing their jobs.

I suspect this is MTV/Viacom getting rid of dead weight, as that network isn't exactly in the best of shape and Youtube has sort of stolen Gametrailer's light anyway.
Okay ... phew ... It's almost pointless to speculate on story aspects from the opening without actually having the game environments to explore and extrapolate from, but I can't help it.
Considering the look of Lothric (sp?) and the rulers, I'm wondering if there's a relation to the Kiln of the First Flame. Gwyn in Dark Souls was considered Lord of Cinder, so I'm curious if he was a member to this. Also the end of the trailer seems to hint a similar quest to Dark Souls 2, i.e. becoming a king/Lord, but something else seems wrong with your character besides being undead.
I already feel good with this trailer because the focus is so much on the place rather than on the player's character.

It is almost certain that the "Lords of Cinder" are Chosen Undead who chose to prolong the Age of Fire through self-sacrifice and the "Unkindled" are those that have rejected kindling the fire in favor of mankind learning to survive in the Age of Dark. The "thing" wrong with you might simply be abyssal corruption from not linking the fire.

I like that, and it probably makes more sense than my thinking.
That Lothric as a convergence point meant it was connected to Lordran and three other places, and in each of these places, one of these guys (or that group) counts as Lord.
We won't get much more until the game comes out a whole damn two months from now.
WOW... I loved his work in BG 1 & 2 and KOTORS.... and he was not really involved the last few years compared to say in previous titles. I think his last real game he worked on was DAO.
Beamdog got some real talent here.
AND they're working on BG stuff.
So apparently Quantum Break will be a Windows 10 Windows store exclusive on PC. Seeing as people can't even access the stuff they've purchased on Games for Windows Live anymore, I can see myself saying get fucked to that. In fact, I will.

Yeah... this is a "Get Fucked" situation. If they wanted to make money, though should have put it on Steam. You know, the Steam that payed for the entire development of the PC version of Alan Wake and American Nightmare in less than 24 hours.
Didn't they already lose the first head writer? I've heard rumors that BioWare has kind of become a terrible place to work since the two founders bailed.

Dark Souls is getting backwards compatibility on Xbox One, and possibly a downloadable pre-order bonus for Dark Souls 3.
I know PS4 is lucky to have Bloodborne, and we might be getting a Demon's Souls port, but I'd really love to play Dark Souls on PS4, especially if it fixes some of the bugs/lag spots, and also able to capture video stuff.

I have heard the same, but it's also always been pretty clear that the non-Edmonton BioWare studios were a lot more "EA" than they were BioWare.
I probably give EA more slack than anyone else on this board, but publisher-mandated support studios always have weird management/culture problems because they exist to primarily for the publisher to be able to tell their shareholders that they're "devoting more resources to leverage our global-leading intellectual properties".
Big shocker, the first two Fallout 4 DLC's are just glorified customization mods. At least the 3rd one sounds like it'll be somewhat interesting. It's gonna be 30 fucking dollars though. So I can wait until I read if it's actually good.

I think 30 bucks for a season pass is completely fair, to be honest... but yes, raising the price to 40 is sort of a dick move after the lack luster main game.
You can just skip it. I've played it a lot, and I enjoy it for what it is... a mindless kill everything game, but you lose nothing for not having played it

True. The real tragedy is there was some real meat to work with here and some of the characters are actually really good (Nick Valentine and Piper especially), but the devs decided that the ultimate solution to all Wasteland Problems is a gun. Is it any surprise that the West Coast is rebuilding into an actual nation and the East Coast is still Barter Town?

I've also read that the perks are awful, that you don't get to take any fun perks because skills aren't separate now, and you have to spend perk points to level skills - thus, leveling up doesn't make you stronger, it only makes your enemies stronger, and you get de facto weaker in everything you don't put a perk point in.

This is also an issue. You sort of have to specialize in ONE weapon style because of how the perk system works, but unlike in New Vegas or even FO3 you can't get the perks you need for extra damage until the game says you can. However, this is worse than it sounds: because of how many perks you NEED to survive (weapon style damage, medicine, armor/weapon upgrade perks, lockpicking/computer, etc) you never really get a chance to get FUN perks.
