[Movies] The Upcoming Movies Trailer Thread

did not need to wear clothes over her Wonder Woman Underoos.
You don't need to wear clothes over your Underoos when the whole world is waiting for you.
And the powers you possess.

On another note, is this MCU Spidey old enough to know what Underoos even are?

So...X-men with children? Not sure if down for that.
In the books, it's more like Harry Potter meets the Holocaust as written by H.P. Lovecraft. Basically, Peculiar people hide away from the normal world because people won't accept their abilities but they are also hiding from those THINGS at the end of the trailer because they want to kill Peculiars for reasons I won't go into because they are spoilers. The books aren't afraid to dip into full on horror, as people are systematically hunted down and eaten by those things. I'm hoping that last bit translates into the movie.

I'm also interested in that they changed the female lead. She's clearly modeled after another minor character in the books but has been aged up several years.

It's like someone saw Food Fight and thought "You know what? Let's turn this into a horror movie."
And played off as a comedy...badly. For a short film-SURE, but I don't know if I want to watch a feature length film of this. Also all the f-notes are KINDA obvious, screaming "HEY-we're an animated film made for adults! NOTICE US!"

It especially says something because, apparently, they showed a copy of the film to Sacha Baron Cohen and he was shocked by it.

Let that sink in.

I'm pretty sure that is the entire basis of Rogen et al.'s approach to humor. That and whatever seemed funny when they were high.

The female bun looks like a vagina amiright? I mean, why doesn't her whole BODY open when she talks?

I will admit I laughed when the Irish potato started getting peeled.[DOUBLEPOST=1458063774,1458063291][/DOUBLEPOST]But they still found a way for Seth's character to get high.

That last bit of the trailer was a hell of a shift in tone; is that like the book?

Also, I bet that one character would be played by Helena Bonham Carter had this been made pre-divorce.

OH hell yes, that's STRAIGHT out of the book. Like I said, the book isn't shy about people getting eaten alive or murdered brutally. It RUNS on disturbing imagery, half of which is stuff dealing with the heroes themselves. I know Yoshi used the X-Men as an example but some peculiar people are practically Murlocks.

And yes, Carter would almost certainly be playing Ms. Peregrine if this had happened pre-divorce.

I think I'm happiest about having a proper Psylocke this time. Because the Psylocke we saw in X3 wasn't really Psylocke.

Huh.
It looks like they're playing him up as "...the same sort of threat Magneto was, only amplified."
I don't think I saw that in the comics, though I can't say whether that's because it wasn't there or because I was much younger then and didn't catch it.

Okay, here's my question:

In that scene when it looks like Apocalypse (at least, prior to how we looks all powered up) is laying on a table, is that alien technology that's beefing him up? I honestly wasn't expecting them to go with the alien tech part of him if that's true.

I hate the "forget everything you know"/"everything you know will change" cliche for movie sequel trailers, but other than that, looks good. Though considering the end of Days of Future Past ...

I guess we know everything's gonna be okay :p.

Psyched to see more Quicksilver.

Y'know, the only Warcraft game I've ever played was WC2, along with its expansion, way back when I was a wee child. I haven't followed the franchise since then, and I have no interest in playing the subsequent games or learning about the lore, which as I understand it has become an epic tale that could fill several encyclopedias.

And yet, simply based on the visuals alone, I am interested in watching this movie. This is one gorgeous movie.

I played 1, 2 and 3, all the expansions, and of course lost years to World of Warcraft. I was never fond of the "The orcs are just a misunderstood tribal people" retcon that happened between 2 and 3. I liked them more warhammerish - unabashed about who they were and what they were doing. I understood that moral ambiguity was a big story selling trope in 2002, but I missed having the option to play the orcs as they used to be. At least they added the Scourge in the same game, I suppose. But I digress... this movie seems to be all about that "maybe if we understood each other better we wouldn't have to fight" thing and that rubs me the wrong way, but I understand it'd be a pretty dull movie if it were just 2 hours of polygons hitting each other with axes.

To be fair, I would also watch 2 hours of polygons hitting each other with axes, as long as the polygons are pretty and/or scantily dressed.
