[TV] Winter HAS COME! - A Game of Thrones

I mean, the show has clearly diverged pretty hard at this point so anything is possible. ALSO, did you call Thoros a true believer? Because lol.

Well, if memory serves, he wasn't really at the beginning, but he became "born again" or something, which is why he could do the mojo later.

Less Born Again, more "Oh shit, dragons are back, magic works again!"

I won't say he didn't believe in the Red God, but he was more Friar Tuck than anything.

Yeah, I think that's where ol' Lady Red is heading. She loses her faith because her revelations haven't come true, and then uses the mojo of disbelief to resurrect ol' Jon boy.[DOUBLEPOST=1461697001,1461696852][/DOUBLEPOST]
The only thing I can really think of is that the power required to maintain her glamor of youth limits her in other areas, such as raising the dead. Maybe that's why she looked so conflicted and torn all through the episode before she finally took the jewel off and reverted - she was debating whether to maintain her appearance, or to sacrifice her apparent youth and beauty to re-raise her max mana cap to where it's supposed to be, so she'll have the juice to cast rez?

So then at the end she took one last long look at her beauty in the mirror, took off the jewel, reverted to her true form, then went to bed to med up or something.

Iono.

There's question as to whether that jewel actually enacts the glamour. There was a scene in a previous season where she was in the tub without it and didn't revert to looking like @Dave at the beach.

A lady at my work pretty much has this for her Facebook profile. The pic is only 7 years old, but the way she looks seems to be 30 years different.

I loved the way they did the last scene. Even though everyone predicted what might happen, it was still suspenseful and exciting.

Okay, I'm not reading this thread, but I just watched the first episode. Like as in the very first. I hate to be the voice of dissent, because I am not doing it on purpose, but I am hoping the first episode is not representative. It was kind of boring, and I'm a huuuuge fantasy fan. There were long periods of nothing really happening, and all the key plot points were telegraphed from about 3 miles away. Also, apparently everyone has sex with the women naked and the men completely clothed.

You aren't alone. I remember watching the first episode after being a huge fan of the books for years and I came away disappointed. Don't worry, it gets much better.

I still think Bran is going to be the character that will save the day.

If this story will be wrapped up in 2.5 seasons or 2 books, things better get moving.

Since the show runners have avoided the Ironborn for so long, that story will really have to get going to catch up.

If Bran and/or Rickon aren't the big saviours in the end, I know what chapters I'm not rereading later on :p

The first season is... Not great. It's not bad after you get through the pointless sexpositions. But it will be good for fapping. :p

Season 1, it took the first three or four episodes together to get me hooked to the show; the rest of the season is pretty good. In fact, I re-watched the first episode the other day, and was amazed at how much I remember from that season sort of blended together, and I though occurred in the first episode. Episodes two through four really seal the deal as to what to expect from the show.

Second season is where shit really picks up; third and fourth seasons are probably the best. Fifth kinda drops, but it's still good toward the end (especially the Hard Home battle episode). I'm digging the sixth so far, but these two episodes have clearly been set ups for bigger things to come.

My biggest concern for last night's episode was
that Tyrion was going to go the way of Quentyn Martell.

That said, no one posted OMGs in this thread because everyone knew how that episode would end.

I was expecting the "Oh", and mentally preparing myself for OH FUCK NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![DOUBLEPOST=1462197412,1462197376][/DOUBLEPOST]By the way, the CGI for those dragons was damn on point. They almost looked like they could pop out of the screen.

Am I a terrible person for liking Ramsay? Not the wacky hijinks he gets up to, but just the way he's acted. He has a razor sharp wit and always has an answer to everything. He's like a Medieval Bond villain.

I was thinking last night, that the actor is just dripping in charisma, and that he should have a long history of being a character actor villain.

It's kind of funny how "It is known" is a handy shortcut for saying "I'm the dumbest, most superstitious, smuggest cunt you'll ever meet."
