[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

Finished House. What an insanely terrible final episode.

Also, I know Cuddy basically packs up and runs thanks to House crashing into her home but I found it weird that she didn't show up at all during season 8. She was a major part of the show for all 7 seasons and then it's like she didn't exist outside of maybe one off-handed comment in one episode.

Wilson getting cancer is shitty. He's basically the last decent person on the show and gets terminal cancer. I feel like the show ends on a pretty depressing note, contrary to what it wants to show, thanks to Wilson's impending death and House basically destroying his life and future to spend a few months with his friend before he dies.

Right? They're all like "Haha we ride into the sunset!" Uhm, what's the plan, here? Wilson dies miserably, and House... comes... back from the dead? Goes to prison? Lives life under the radar, alone, having finally lost his last friend? Hurray.

Well, I imagine they would just continue to rip off Sherlock Holmes, post-waterfall death.

I've heard tell that the first season of Preacher is supposed to be a prequel to the main story...they are aware that prequels only work if the main story is shown first right?

Ran through Firefly to cleanse the palate after that last season of House.

Two seasons of Penny Dreadful are on Netflix, so now I'm giving that a shot.

Penny Dreadful is good, but be warned the 3rd season ends the series pretty abruptly and fairly out of character f0r the rest of the series. They do manage to clear up most of the plots though.

Third season's not on Netflix, unfortunately, so I'll have to find...other methods.

I don't know if anyone here watched Graham Norton, but a few weeks ago they had one of the finest episodes of any talk show, ever. It was a very star-packed couch, for one: Matt LeBlanc promoting the new Top Gear, Emilia Clarke pushing Game of Thrones and Me Before You, Kate Beckinsale promoting Love & Friendship, and Dominic Cooper barely plugging Warcraft. What made it magical? Well, apparently Emilia Clarke had a fairly substantial crush on Matt LeBlanc, and she asked to do the Joey "How you doin'?" bit, which he did, and she basically melted. But more than that? Kate Beckinsale is a mad genius. She was the star of the episode, with three major stories: "The Pantomime Horse Costume", "The Chocolate Bum (as in ass) Prank", and "Colin Farrell and The Iron Vagina Fart". I kind of don't want to ruin it in case it's on YouTube.

I've come to the conclusion that divorced from the source material, I'm really enjoying the way the Preacher show is. It's really it's own thing. That's not a bad thing.

Honestly surprised they changes Eugene/Arseface's backstory a bit. I guess they thought it wouldn't play well on TV?

Regardless of it as an adaptation, I feel the show is taking too long to start the actual plot.

Thank you Mr.Robot, for restoring my faith in television.

Rick and Morty season 2

Doesn't seem as clever as season 1, and it's a lot more murder-y.
Dude, season 1 was hella murdery. Rick got Morty to murder countless Galactic Federation officers in the very first episode! "They're Bureaucrats, I don't respect them."

This Stranger things show on the Netflix seems damn fine so far. Only 3 episodes in but I like what I'm seeing.

I found myself kind of fading in and out of paying attention a couple times but once things start getting really weird later into ep2 I was hooked.

Saw the first episode of that vice principal show with what's his name, other guy, and Bill Murry.

Not for me. I don't really like that kind of cringe humor where it's the guy just being a jackass and...and like fuck that guy.

Don't really have a thread for TV trailers so...

I still can't beleive they think they can make people get on CBS All Access with this. Like... MAYBE if they had ALL of Trek on there, including the movies, but even then I can't imagine much else that would draw me to it.

Which is a shame, because it means Star Trek: Discovery has a 50/50 chance of getting cancelled instead of being sent to Netflix.

Ugh, that CGI looks like poop!

I'm not the only one pissed off about the ending of tonight's Preacher right?
Depends--are you the only one watching? :p[DOUBLEPOST=1469416679,1469416548][/DOUBLEPOST]
Netflix has picked up the new MST3K, and it sounds like Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy are involved as well.
Kinda annoyed that I bought the special collector's DVD set of the new season, as I thought it'd be the only way I would get to watch it since I don't have cable. But whatever, every dollar helps them so I shouldn't gripe for spending some extra.

Joel had mentioned he was shopping the show around, but the KS money basically guaranteed the episodes if nobody picked it up. This deal could mean, if the new season is actually good, that he and the new team could do more past what was promised.

Then I for one welcome our new Netflix overlords.

Nope. That seemed like a waste of the last 10 minutes and brought the rest of the show to a screeching halt. They didn't give us any new information, just beat us over the head with shit we already knew. There had to be a better way to set that up.

That being said, I have mixed feelings for this season. The first 4 episodes still seem like a waste of time and could have been condensed. I'm all for building atmosphere, but it feels like there was a lot of fluff. Meanwhile, the last 3 episodes (excluding those 10 minutes), really do feel like the Preacher comics. I'm not loving how uneven it's been, but I'm willing to watch the finale.
