[Gaming] Overwatch (#boycottblizz)

I just don't understand. Evolve was blasted for selling skins, but now people are pissed at Blizzard for not selling skins. WTF?
Less that, and more blasted for making any chance at getting a skin a lottery instead of just selling them outright. I don't care either way, none of the skins are worth money to me, when I can eventually get enough currency in game to buy them.

They're selling a chance to get skins, but a much greater chance to get nothing of value.
Well...a much greater chance to get "currency" so you can eventually buy the skin(s) you want, though at a vastly inflated price since the exchange rate on duplicates is so miniscule.

It's practically analogous to saying you can still earn money by recycling the non-winning scratch-off lottery tickets.

Or by turning in your cans for the deposit, then buying more drinks with the funds and returning those cans, etc.

That would be a particularly good analogy if the machine that dispensed the cans dispensed only random cans, sometimes not even soda.

I was just referring to the amount of "currency" accumulated per dollar spent as the number of unacquired rewards approaches zero.

You got your porn stache. What more do you want?
I don't even get to play 76 any more. And there are no good lucio skins, IMO. Buuuuut, if I was gonna pony up for skins I'd probably first get a Torbjorn skin that isn't a palette swap of the default, for one.

The game's been out for three months now. I thought by now we'd have weeded out the chances of experiencing an entire team that doesn't know you have to be at the payload, that it doesn't move on its own.

... I really thought that, until today.

You're funny.
I'm no masterful player, but I had a game today where I was Lúcio with a team of other folks, had to attack Hollywood, and the rest of my team spent all the way until the "30 seconds remaining" warning skirmishing with the other team just outside the spawn point. I booked it to the limo and I swear I probably spent over 10 seconds just dancing around the limo while the one opponent who realized what I was doing frantically tried to shoot me and summon the rest of his team away from that party going on further back.

You've described my evening, essentially. One person trying to do the point/payload, the others just fucking around.

I played tonight too! My teams sucked too! Well, Charon was alright. But most of the matches were clusterfucks of multiple bastions. Still, by the end, Charon and I managed to turn things around. Won defense as Torbjorn, that was a nice blast from the past. But on too many rounds I got 4 gold medals as D.Va. If D.Va is getting all the golds (especially me playing D.Va), team's DPS isn't doing its job.

Same as me; all the medals belonging to my D.Va.

Hell, I played Symmetra on defense, got 3 kills, 1 objective kill before we were overwhelmed thanks to my shitty team, and I got the gold for both those categories. What. The. Fuck.

I find myself saying that quite often. It's even more fun when Terrik is second tank and between the two of us we have all the gold and silver.

Someone needs to do a "Goofus & Gallant"-style comic with the "back in the day" Jack and Gabby.
"Jack holds the door for a lady. Gabby empties both guns into the door and shoves her through the remains of the doorframe."
