[Rant] Minor Rant III: For a Few Hollers More

You are a dad, so you're contractually obligated to print a label that says "label maker" and put it on the label maker.

On one hand, I only got about 3 hours of sleep, and couldn't manage to fall back asleep all morning after my kids left for school. On the other hand, maybe I will be able to fall asleep at a reasonable hour tonight and have a chance at fixing my completely screwed up sleep schedule! (lol yeah right)

I stayed up a few extra hours being dumb and playing video games, meaning I went to bed just after 4 instead of my usual 1-2.
At 4:30 our son starts coming in and waking us over and over again, culminating in him puking at about 6:15.

Parenthood.

It would be even better if "Small Label Maker" was printed on a big label, and "Large Label Maker" was printed on a tiny one.

Not a pleasant beginning to the day, took the boys out for their morning walk at about 8am, saw that the dog park was occupied with a dog that Louis has had trouble with in the past (was attacked by said dog in the park), so we walked a different route instead. All the morning duties were accomplished, so we were just about to head up the stairs to home, and the owner of the dog in the park walked her big dog into the back end of my twosome. Chaos ensued, dog went after Louis, she barely got him pulled back, then the dog went after Silk (who doesn't react to anyone negatively). She could have taken a different route, she could have avoided everything. Gratefully Louis followed commands and went a few steps up the stairs and Silk just moved away on his own. People that cannot control or properly socialize their pets just piss me off. I yelled at the woman, I believe that everyone on my side of the complex heard me, her beast attacked my Pugs and she's all just, "I just live over there" and that should explain everything. I've still got too much adrenaline pumping through me, still mad that an avoidable situation could have been avoided and wasn't because someone else did a stupid thing.

I posted that on facebook.

Now to add on, this is one of the few times in my life that I've ever really wanted to punch the crap out of someone. You did a stupid thing that endangered part of my family, and that really pisses me off. DAMN dumb ass that doesn't know how or really have enough strength to control this big dog, and you seemingly purposefully guide your monster into a situation that can cause trouble? Honestly, this is about 30 minutes after the fact and I'm still shaking from the surge of adrenaline that I released. I'm thankful that her retractable leash held, don't think that it's actually rated for as large a dog as she had on it, because if he had gotten away from her I would be talking to the police right now about killing her dog to protect mine. I would have done it, and honestly the knowledge of how to stop it from severely hurting or even killing either of my boys popped right to the front as a possible reaction. Now, to go report this incident to the management because this is just intolerable.

Especially since all she had to do was wait 20 seconds to build a gap and walk no faster than you, yeah, that's terribly selfish and ignorant.

My parents' apartment complex in San Diego had some of the stupidest dog owners. A lot of them were twenty-something women who left their dog alone in their apartment while they went clubbing. One night of clubbing typically turned into a weekend-long bender where the girl didn't return until early Monday morning. In the meantime the dog just sat there, starving and dehydrated, covered in shit, waiting for their person to return. There were a few cases where concerned neighbors called the cops, who then charged the ditz with animal neglect. GOD I hate nightclub people.

But the worst was a Marine who left his dog trapped on the balcony when he deployed for another tour in Afghanistan. The dog stayed up there, without food or water, for three days before the neighbors rescued it. I'm friends with the apartment staff and they said the douchebag didn't make any arrangements for re-homing or kenelling the dog. He just abandoned it.

This isn't me on a rant. This is me just sharing my stories of stupid dog owners.

Abandoning a dog is horrible in all circumstances, mind, but "losing" them in a forest or a park or something at least makes some sense. Leaving your dog on your own balcony is....what, he wanted to come home to a balcony covered in fungal biohazardous waste? Or to a bunch of bleached bones, depending on environment and how long he was gone? No respect whatsoever to anyone who abandons a dog in any way, but, seriously, what?

My rant: the sleeplessness is over and back to barely being awake. I've told my mum this often yet on almost every call we have, I get harassed about various Facebook posts that I haven't liked or commented on. Seriously??

"I understand you've been sleeping for two solid days but DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE AUNT DID???"

(yes, it was intentional)

This throat infection, flu, or whatever is causing my soreness, raw throat, sweating, and dizziness is also somehow making me feel like I'm having a minor anxiety attack. This is a sensation I hadn't felt in a good while, and it's making it exceedingly hard to concentrate.
