a Trump vs Clinton United States Presidential Election in 2016

Who do you vote into the office of USA President?

  • Total voters
    48
So Ted Cruz backtracked on literally the only thing he has done this election to garner him the slightest bit of respect and endorsed trump.

More pressing though, is the following discovery:

@blotsfan He is a notable political analyst with an emphasis on analyst. He has a great track record of correctly predicting state and national elections using statistical models. He isn't really known for taking potshots at one side or the other. It is a little disappointing to see.

Oh yeah I know who he is. He hasn't really hidden his anti-trump views all election though. I think part of that is how much he was caught off guard by how well Trump did in the primaries. I don't think its had any impact on his polling or models though.

Seen at the Bloomsburg, PA fair. And yes, it is exactly what it looks like. These are the deplorables. And they are proud of it.

They can't even get the flag right. Swastika in a square on a red field with a white stripe?

That's not a valid flag.

I don't see the debate drawing 100,000,000 viewers. That means that half the number watching are not registered to vote. I would be shocked if more than 15,000,000 watch this cluster fuck tonight.

Correct, but not for the reasons you list.

That's a (mostly correct) replica of a Hitler Youth flag. The black border around the white square is what makes it invalid.

I don't think they care about any part other than the swastika. Besides, maybe they've made their own racist, deplorable flag. They are really proud of being racist fuckwits.

I still amaze at how I'm a mere 30 minute drive from Boulder yet somehow in the middle of conservative town USA. I know why it happens, but ugh.

A surprisingly large section of the world's population are proud of being racist 'fuckwits', as you say. In many ways, you should be glad that you have to turn to the internet to find some racist flag in Somewhere, USA, rather than being able to step outside and see it everywhere.

My neighbor has one of those "I'm a deplorable" signs out on his yard. :(

Call people names, then be surprised when they proudly adopt the name? Sounds like Yankee Doodle to me. Haven't some minorities done that as well?

Dehumanization is harder when the people you're trying to dehumanize assert their humanity by laughing about the attempt.

Sure, but they also proudly wave racism around like a flag too. :p My mom at least knows to tamp it down in front of my kids because I don't appreciate it.

I think Boulder is the aberration in this story.

After all, even Texas has its Austin.

Yet.

That doesn't surprise me, there had to be a reason behind the crumbling infrastructure and skyrocketing crime rate.
If you ask the Democrats, they will blame TABOR. I don't know what the Republicans blame. I don't care, I think both parties are equally inept. [emoji14]

Well there's also a strong correlations between urban and democrat and rural and republican. And the two have different needs and problems.
COS's population has grown by 20% since I lived there - from 362k to 440k. Previously, the city was very "red" (Focus on the Family has its headquarters there, and the Air Force Academy is on its north end). As much growth as I'd seen on my visits, I'd have thought the population boost would have been bigger. I don't know if it counts as "urban" (perhaps urban-sprawl) because most of it is very low density, as is often the way in cities in the great plains.

I mean, Co Springs is basically the red capital of the state. Denver though, is very blue, and definitely fits more in with Urban than Co Springs. Co Springs is basically the anti-Boulder. They are both cities, but neither really fits the city atmosphere.

Definitely. Very, very low density. I mean, this is what downtown Colorado Springs looks like:

And this is what downtown Bryan, TX looks like:

They could be two pictures of the same street from different angles, and yet one has 5 times the population of the other. And in both cases, outside that street, you'd be hard pressed to find a building over 3 stories tall within a mile of another such.

Yep, I know Boulder has a city ordinance about how tall buildings can be so that they don't have skyscrapers and the like. I don't know if Co Springs has the same.
