There's this girl from work who I keep running into outside of work. More specifically, she's always showing up with her boyfriend at places that my wife and I happen to be at. Last time it was at a steak restaurant, they had the table next to ours. The time before that it was at a train station. The time before that, it was just walking along the street.

On this particular occasion, we passed each other on opposite escalators in a department store. My wife and I were there to watch Mrs. Peregrine's School for Gifted Youngsters. Greeted each other, waved, and went on our merry ways.

Funny part is, I've chatted with her about her boyfriend before, and their relationship has been rocky for ages. She always makes it sound like they're on the verge of breaking up, but we still keep seeing them going out together.

I don't know why forums about "The Powerpuff girls" get insanely vulgar and racist...but they do. With the dumb-asses THIS ONE deals with, I better get Professor ranking soon.

Just got a call from GADS1 (404)891-5588. The guy immediately says in a thick Indian accent, "Hi! I am calling from Microsoft..."

No, you're not.
Yes, I am. We are receiving lots of error messages...
No, you're not. And you're not seriously trying to get me in the fix it scam, are you?
Yes, we are. We are receiving lots of error messages from your computer...
Fine. What's the errors and what's my computer?
Your computer code...
What's my computer code? Is that my MAC address? My Windows serial number? You tell me what my computer "code" is and what the errors are.
...(silence for about 10 seconds)...
What is my computer code?

This doesn't deserve a rating. This deserves the highest of fives. [emoji16]

@Gared, be careful with that iGlobal site. The only shipping option they gave was UPS ground, and they charged me $9.40 for it. They wound up shipping USPS Priority Mail, which was not what I paid for. I sent an email last night expecting a refund or at least a discount for that.
Thanks for the heads up.

Turns out UPS is doing a lot of delivery sharing with USPS. UPS will deliver it from the shipper to your local post office, then USPS will do the final delivery.
I'm not saying this is necessarily what happened here, but if the fine print on the delivery options says that this is what is going to happen, then you won't get a refund.

They refer to this as "UPS Express" and "Fedex Express," so if you see express added to any of the shipping options, this is what it means. UPS/FEDEX will deliver it to the post office nearest you, and then USPS will make the final leg of the delivery.

I had to learn this the hard way, because I do not have a physical mailbox, but have a PO Box. UPS/Fedex deliver right to my door and will not deliver to a PO box, while USPS deliveries have to go to my pobox, and this caused all sorts of problems.

Immigration is currently raiding the house next door. I'm of two minds about this. On the one hand, they have friends who come over and every time it's nice out they are blaring their music. On the other, they've really fixed that house up and they are all hard working guys who are really nice. I wonder what neighbors I'll have in the next few hours.

I miss the houseful of undocumented peeps that used to live next to me. Hard working, easy going, and I have never tested better tequila than whatever off-label stuff they were always offering. Now it's just college dudebros :(

Well, the cops and INS left and we didn't see them haul anyone away. So now I have no idea why they were all there.

Here's a plausible scenario: Someone, possibly a relative or friend of the occupants, or an actual resident of the house, filed an AR-11 with this place's address on it, used the address to file a USCIS form, or gave the address at a port of entry (with one of I-94/I-94W/I-95/6059B, usually).

Whatever the legal standing of their stay expires, and they do not record a lawful departure with any port of exit by the end of their visa+grace period, nor do they file/obtain a new status. USCIS contacts INS to report the unlawful situation and, at some point, the INS swings by the address(es) on file to see whether the person is still there, or their whereabouts are known by the current residents, in order to begin deportation/voluntary departure proceedings.

The presence of police may indicate that the person was suspected to be a flight risk, so another alternative is that someone with that address on file (see first paragraph, but add 'gave address to the police' as an option) was convicted of a deportable offense, and was not put on custodial deportation proceedings outright, and an attempt on collecting them was being made.

According to the local sports bar, Yuengling and Sam Adams do not count as Domestic beer. You know what DOES count though? Coors lite, Bud Lite, and Miller lite....why couldn't they just say light beer?

It bothers me greatly that neither Whitebeard nor Blackbeard have beards in One Piece. Blackbeard doesn't even really have facial hair. I get that "hige" is a generic word in Japanese for facial hair, but they're clearly referencing real historic figures here.

Yuengling and Sam Adams both brew domestically... and Adams is owned by the Koch brothers. Yuengling is the oldest domestic brewery in America. Whoever told you they aren't domestic is an idiot or doesn't want to eat the cost of these "small" breweries.

HEY NOW-Blackbeard has a beard it just...disappears from time to time!

BUT-yeah that bugs me too.

A friend needs this translated, would anyone be able to help me please??
Google tells me "mound court and loyalty" but I don't think it got the first part right.

Edit: maybe "family and loyalty?"[DOUBLEPOST=1475791941,1475791519][/DOUBLEPOST]yeah, I'm 90% certain those first two characters are supposed to mean "family."

... yeah. I'm going with "Family and loyalty."

What about individually? I know a lot of times characters work together as a whole, but what about individually?

Google says the "Loyalty" part isn't quite right, since Google thinks Loyalty should be "忠誠" and suggests "忠诚" is more "Faith(fulness)."
So..."Family and Faith" instead?
EDIT: Google does have 忠诚 as an alternate for "Loyalty" further down.

Conversely, beers like labatt and molson often get domestic pricing over here.
Sure, Buffalo is practically Canada. I still have fond memories of pre 9-11 working Peace Bridge tolls in the summer and having the customs guys just wave the obviously drunk 19 year olds through without a second glance.

I do not speak Chinese, and might be ignorant to certain idioms and double entendres, but individually, google tells me those characters mean:

家 - Family
庭 - Court

(together meaning family or household)

和 - and

忠 - Loyalty
诚 - Honesty

(together meaning loyalty, fidelity, alliegance, devotion)
